How much "extreme" speed are we talking about in the Samsung ? Rather, why is a particular brand much faster than others ? and, Worth the extra price ?

No votes for Sandisk! Really weird.
I would buy Sandisk any day over any other brand.

the reason is simple, sandisk doesnt number some of their cards according to international speeds... + overpriced.

Thanks , i'll get the Strontium card.

visit the link above which i have mentioned.

well the reason why one is faster is that
a. they are using a better memory controller
b. better quality NAND

if you want a much more technically detailed answer, then the transfer speed depends upon the frequency of the NAND chip and also the BUS tranfer mode.

you may ask that if the speed depends on the frequency why cant i get a slower card and then overclock the NAND? the reason is simple that you will blow the chip if you go above a certain frequency... hence you need to be sure.... and thats the reason why some class 6 cards beat class 10 and vice versa.

marvell and hyperstone make some of the best memory controllers which are found in the top of the range SSD/HDD

Already got the Strontium card, and already a few people mentioned to me that they had to RMA their Strontium card and they are the worst of the lot. But i still believe they are quite good and these were a few exceptions..

Rs 1467 + Rs 25 - Rs 200
Rs.1,292

+1 .... sandisk cards are not that good, unless you were considering the really speed demons scene...

if it has to conk-off it wont work the first time, if it does then you wont face a problem...
