Hi guys

I am going to add another 1TB HDD on my system and want to split it into two partitions of 500GB each. I will be allocating one partition each to ubuntu 11.04 and XP.

The problem is that I've already installed Windows 7 on my primary hard disk. So I wanted to know if it's possible to install the linux and xp Os on my other drive to setup a 3 way boot option?

Should I install XP on the other drive first and then run ubuntu installation to create GRUB entry? Will GRUB restore Windows 7?

You shouldnt have any problem. Incase the bootloader doesnt recognise Win 7, then repair the boot using Win 7 dvd.
Then you may use easy bcd to manage the boot.
But I think there wont be any problem.

Remember,

first install XP and then install linux. Only then you will be able to boot to any of these OSes.
