Yep, that's true.

After all this hunting, I've decided to go for a Dell 22" LCD TFT Monitor.
The model is: Dell E228WFP

The homepage is:

*www1.ap.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/e228wfp?c=in&cs=inbsd1&l=en&s=bsd

Price: INR 19,000 + taxes.

One question for the experts: The response time is 6ms. Will this result in
ghosting while playing games with high framerates?

One question for everyone: What do you think about this monitor?

I see right through you.
Can anyone compare this with the Viewsonic VX2235WM which is also 22" and also 19k including taxes?

I really don't think that the viewsonic model which you've mentioned comes for INR 19,000. I remember my vendor mentioning INR 25,000 + 4% vat, taking it to 26k.

Can you confirm this? Then maybe I can opt for the viewsonic one instead!

I've asked 3 shops in Chennai, including The ITDepot. All of them quote a price between 19k and 19.5k.

Superb then! Thanks a lot for stating that.

Some vendors in calcutta are wolves!!! (Not all).

So, two fantastic 22" widescreen monitors are now available under INR 20,000. Both have awesome response times,
and are very well suited for gaming or demanding graphics!

1. Dell 22" E228WFP LCD TFT Monitor (1680x1050@60Hz) 6ms response time
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
INR. 19000 (including shipping anywhere in India) + 4% VAT.

2. Viewsonic 22" VX2235WM E228WFP LCD TFT Monitor (1680x1050@60Hz) 5ms response time
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
INR. 19500 + 4% VAT

Way to go Viewsonic and Dell!

Cheers.

Horizontal Refresh Rate 30KHz - 82KHz
Vertical Refresh Rate 50Hz - 85Hz

That's for the Viewsonic.

dude, for CRT's the difference between 60 and 75 is clearly visible, 60 almost flickers, try me, and I can tell by just looking at CRT if it's running at 60 or higher than 75.

Yeah well that's just not the case with TFT. In TFT 60Hz doesn't appear flickery at all.

What say, all you digit-lings? :D
