It is starting from 28th February and India is hosting it.

Here are the teams.

Pool A

  • Korea
  • New Zealand
  • Canada
  • Argentina

Pool B

  • Australia
  • Spain

  • Pakistan

  • South Africa

India vs Pakistan on 8:35pm on Sunday, 28 Feb, 2009

I'll most probably go to watch the match @ Dhyan Chand National Stadium. Let's see. :p

Only the top 2 in their respective groups advance to the Semi Final.

Indian Squad
Goalkeepers: Adrian D'souza, P.R. Sreejesh
Defenders: Sandeep Singh, Diwakar Ram, Dhananjay Mahadik
Mid fielders: Gurbaj Singh, Vikram Pillay, Bharat Chikara, Danish Mustafa, Tushar Khandekar
Forwards: Deepak Thakur, Gurinder Chandi, Rajpal Singh (c), Prabhjot Singh, Sarwanjit Singh, Arjun Halappa, Shivendra Singh.

Two-three more to be confirmed.

its like all of us football fans.... have taken it upon us to promote sports other than cricket...

anyway, D'Souza is a gr8 keeper and i hope india wins it.. we have home advantage..

Right off the assembly line
Hockey is our national sport and surely means 100x more to Mother India than Cricket - the lazy man's sport.

India has won both their practice matches against Argentina and Netherlands by 2-1. :D

i can see everything that is wrong with indian hockey here.17posts and none talking about any strategy or the playing style of our team.we only care as long as we win.so, this thread is expected to sink into oblivion as soon as india gets knocked out

^ The Indian team this time is relying heavily on the Penalty corner dragflickers. We've got a good bunch of Penalty corner specialists in a long time. You could clearly see that the 2 goals which we scored yesterday were from Penalty corners.
