I have a windows 2000 professional cd. It is not a bootable cd and has a folder called "makebootdisk" with which you can create bootable floppies to initiate the installation.
Is there anyway to install 2000 without the floppies ie by booting up thro the cd ?
I came across a programme called Tformat which is developed by an indian and which available free. This programme formats bad sector floppies and make them usable. It also increases the size to 1.72 MB from 1.38 MB. This has worked for me. here is the link...

There are several cases where viruses are not removed even after formatting the hard disk. Here comes the "Norton Emergency Disk (NED) " which is used to entirely scan the system using bootable floppies. The problem is NED uses 3 to 4 floppies - and floppies are not reliable.
