i am not a die hard Intel fan. i just like it. if it's decent and better than Intel and within budget, and has a promising future for upgrading for better performance, i don't mind buying amd.

VS 450 is OK, but check out CX 430-CX 500. specially CX 500. they're better.

suggest a good 1333MHz ram then. i don't necessarily need a Intel motherboard, just something which would be good and compatible with the CPU.

i think you should go with a Z77 motherboard. check out flipkart, you'll find one with 2-3k price difference from the mobo you suggested. i am not an expert though, i am only suggesting what i thought would be good by reading reviews and stuff. correct me if i am wrong.

try the psu out with a different motherboard or PC. if it works, then the fault is in your PC. if not, the psu might be faulty.
