So, if budget allows i should go for Corsair. If not, i should go for transcend or kingston and sandisk or strontium should be the last priority.

But then how did 2 ram sticks of diff. frequencies(400 and 800mhz) sizes(512mb and 2gb) and from diff. manufacturers(ram from diff. manufacturers not working together makes no sense) worked fine i my pc???

^^sling shot, this doesnt matter. I used 2 diferent types of ram in my old pc, ie. 1 x 512mb 400mhz(transcend) + 1 x 2gb 800mhz(kingston)

^^exactly. An apple iMac would be best suited for you because it provides great funtionality and an enjoyable interface. Also, your requirements are also not too high(like heavy gaming) so it would be best suited for you as i said earlier.

If you have bought the rig then its OK(ie. it is good for 2yrs), but if you have to buy it then go with .ico. Also, you can get a gen3 mobo with this GFX to get the most of it and 8gb ram. If you are about to buy the pc then pls tell if you can increase your budget.

Your requirements are not too high so you can get a basic iMac if you are comfortable with mac os.
