I liked it. More variety.

New weapon types, including unarmed weapons, light greatsword and throwing spears. So even melee builds now have a somewhat viable ranged attack with some weapons.

Also, new dungeon types (Gaols and Forges). New leveling system. Several hours worth of gameplay (36 hours so far for me and it's around half way done). New NPC quests, boss types, enemies, etc.

The new leveling system basically ties the progress you make in the DLC to the DLC only, all of that does not carry over when you return to the main map.

Overall I find it enjoyable, more Elden Ring to play. I wonder how they will top this with the second DLC if there is one.

Started playing Elden Ring

Bought the game for PS5 including the Erdtree DLC.

Chose the Vagabond build (should have selected the Samurai build).

Now I see the reason this game is GOTY

With a Map Size of 30.5 square miles there is lot to explore :)

Will need all to get the Trophy in PS5

What I realized now why people play a game over and over is to get all the Trophies in PS5
do you mean achievements in steam ? that you can get in a couple of playthroughs. like getting all spells, incantations. Getting all weapons is too difficult though. You wont need to do this, once you find the weapon you like, you gonna stick to it forever.

Achievements on the PlayStation platform are called Trophies, in case you didn't know. Usually they will be the same as the Steam achievements for most multi-platform games.

Elden Ring does not actually have too many achievements. Except for the achievements related to the endings, you can get all achievements in one playthrough.

Sekiro Parry Mechanics, Nameless King, Lady Maria in Elden Ring.. Whaaaaaaaaat
OMGWTF.

I always wanted Sekiro like deflect mechanics in Elden Ring. Though they had introduced a physick in SotE that boosts blocking if done shortly before being hit, it's not really close to what we had in Sekiro.

Also, is this a DLC or a standalone game? Also looks like it's coop only.

Nerevarine

Incarnate
Its a standalone game. I dont think it has the lore of elden ring, but a spinoff kinda lore, similar to "what if" from marvel.

Samurai build is very dex heavy. You will still have to rely on your rolls.

Mage build will be better since you can spam spells and let your summons tank the damage.
