Try re-installing.. You may check with other dvd's.. coz some dvd's wont support 8x speed even if its mentioned as 8x.. if doesn't fix the problem, Please let me know.

similar problem with my westren digital 160 gb hard disk.. it failed to boot many times to xp.. after i re wrote the MBR it worked well.. try formatting the entrire the entire harddisk and recreate the partition table.. if anything wrong in this let me know :-) :cry:

Try a different package....

i used vista boot repair option it doesnt did well....

sisya simply install quick heal 9.0 trial if u r not interested in all the above procedure... yes i did it too...

hi i installed ubuntu on my harddisk with vista and xp preinstalled... as it happened i lost my vista boot loader after i formatted the linux drive... help me to recover my vista....

Also antivirus programs cause this type error...

Guys i have a pentium D dual core pc with asus motherboard and running xp sp2... the problem is whenever i insert a dvd, my system hangs permanently with out any notice even task manager can not help me out... plz.. help me...

Try using the mother board graphics.... :) :) :)
