Since my IP35-E is dead i got a Biostar GF7050V-M7 from my vendor as a standby mobo.so i ran a few benches.
i was able to oc my E8400 to 3.6GHz.no bad considering the fact that mobo costs only 2.3k.oc'ing was mainly limited by the fact that BIOS didnt allow vcore to be set over 1.32v.

Test Bed:
1.E8400 cooled by CoolerMaster Hyper48
2.Biostar GF7050V-M7 based on nVidia 7050/610i chipset
3.2*1GB DDR2 667 Transcend
4.XFX 8800GTS 320MB
5.CoolerMaster Extreme Power Duo 650W
6.Windows Vista Ultimate x86 SP1

all benches were run with procy running @ 3.6GHz and ram @ 800MHz.

never thought a 2.3k mobo would go this extent..nice overclocking results as well.
If come across this post a month back may be I wouldve opted for q6600+this mobo - > 13k
instead of
wasting my money in Elite 330-2600
390w smps-2500
Artic cooler - 1800
Thermal paste - 600
TP35D2-A7 - 4600
E2160 - 2900
Total of 15k for which q6600+nvdia610i+decent zeb cab+smps <15k much better option :(

Nice effort there hellgate. What happened to your IP35-E ?
Decent board for budget buyers with more emphasis on good onboard video but single channel memory controller is a huge drawback.
THat is evident from the lacklustre memry performance i guess.

I wouldnt buy that board, you have a much much better board there axxo.Single channel will take its toll on overall performance, trust me.

better board no doubt in that....but low end mobo+high end proc will beat high end mobo + low end proc..
and unless not into gaming performance difference btw single/dual channel is negligible.
Currenlty am on single channel only..so overall i feel Biostar GF7050V-M7 + E8400/Q6600 is better than choosing E2160+Abit/biostar/msi p35 chipset mobos

Well it doesnt work like that.

Q66 needs a very solid PWM circuitry.

Cheap boards dont really have that....

A good example,

Biostar TP35D2A7 is known for popping capacitors under high overclocks. Why ? cost cutting is the answer my dear.
Its a cheap board but thats because of use of lower quality components, compared to that, Foxconn MARS can handle QX9650 @ 5.8-6.0GHz with ease and still doesnt die. Thats because of a solid PWM circuit and excellent quality of components used.
Biostar costs = 4.2k
Foxconn costs = 10.5k
more than double, both are P35 chipsets but still they are worlds apart.

I guess you get my point.Same logic is applicable to cheap mATX onboard video boards.
Using them with high end CPUs doesnt really make sense.

Also its not just gaming that Single channel or Dual Channel matters. Not that it makes a world of a difference but if each and every board out there has it,why not use it ? atleast it shows improvement in memory bandwidth,so applications that are memory bandwidth dependant, will definitely benifit, right ?

actually i did run a Q6600 when i had one.the mobo performed well with the quad keeping in mind its price point.
cud oc my Q6600 to 2.75GHz.
this is one of the cheapest LGA775 mobo available in the ,arket which supports C2D.and i wud dare say thats its the best in its league.
had also tried a Gigabyte G945GCM-S2C(doesnt has 45nm support) and it suxd big time.price was same as this Biostar mobo.
i noticed 1 thing with the 3DMark06 bench with this setup @ 3.6GHz the SM2.0 and HDR scores were higher than the IP35-E + E8400 @ 4.0GHz.

@darklord Thnx buddy.
my IP35-E is dead.the screw driver slipped from my hane while i was tryong to mod the HSF and chipped out a diode from the PWM area.
afaik abit has no service center in India.

i know but i was under influence of somethin if u know wat i mean.:D
anyways if i dont get warranty will it be wise to get the mobo repaired locally or sud i get a new one?

it should be replaced.
Otherwise get it repaired, is the damage sever ? has the PCB track come or anything ?
