1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.' Vague answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work.)
Ans: AAA titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Red dead redemption 2, Death stranding. Also E sports title like csgo. Other purpose would be video editing (Adobe Premiere Pro) primarily for YouTube.
2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then please mention.
Ans: Not fixed. I can certainly spend 60-70k as of now (without upgrading graphics card now. Planning to do it after some months)
3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: Never done it before but certainly wishes to. Not immediately but sometime in future.
4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Windows 10.
5. How much hard drive / solid-state drive space is needed?
Ans: Already have 1) 1TB SSD 2) 250GB SSD 3) 2TB HDD. Don't need anymore.
6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention the screen size and resolution you prefer. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, then do mention the screen size and resolution of the monitor you have.
Ans: Not now. I have Acer (some model) 24 inch 1080p 144Hz Monitor. (TN panel though). I'll definitely upgrade it to a 1440p (27 inch) or maybe even 4k (if prices drop) with bigger screen size sometime in future. So, this system should be able to handle the extra pixels.
7. Which components you DON'T want to buy? i.e. which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: Keyboard + mouse, monitor, graphics card (I have 1060 6GB GTX as of now. Will use it for some months until I have enough money to go for RTX 3070 or 3080.)
8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: By Jan 2021 (considering stocks of new components would get stabilized in market)
9. Have you ever built a desktop before? Or, will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: Yes, will build this one myself as well.
10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Gurgaon. Can buy online or from Nehru place, Delhi.
11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: Will a Ryzen 5600x suffice my needs or should I go for 5800x? On the Intel side, the options are 10700k or 10900k but I also read somewhere that they are going to release 11th gen soon (14nm again but with better architecture).
Looking to buy following components right now:
1) Processor (plus decent cooling)
2) Motherboard
3) RAM (already have DDR4 16GB 2400MHz sticks. Should I re-use?)
4) Cabinet.
Regarding power supply: I have cx550 as of now, 1 year old. I guess I can use it as of now because I would be using 1060gtx for the time being.
Thanks in advance.
