ryzan vs intel?

centuryold

Right off the assembly line
Hey there,
i'm planning to get a PC for my video related job and my budget is very much limited. Also, i know the best in the business but can not afford those items. i'm planning to get ryzan instead of intel. So, aol mail login will it works good? I mean, i need to work on small video files (not big heavy files like the pros) and i think it will work just fine. but however, if anyone has experienced some glitch or whatsoever. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Depends on the budget. Because of Ryzen supply shortages, some Ryzen CPUs are overpriced & that makes the Intel option better, like at 15k Intel i5 10400 is better than R3 3300X & is cheaper than R5 3600 (which is 20k instead of 15-16k).

No doubt 4500U is a faster processor but why can't you upgrade RAM to make it 16 gb ?

Which one is powerful?

Configuration A).

AMD Ryzen 5 4500U + 8GB DDR4 RAM

Configuration B).

Intel Core-i5 10210U + 16GB DDR4 RAM

Both configurations (A). & (B). belongs to the Laptop segment.
First of all, it doesn't matter which is faster if you are not able to take advantage of it. If all you do is typical tasks or some casual video editing/streaming etc then difference is a few seconds at best.

That is because the Asus 14 inch model notebook with Ryzen 5 4500U ,has only a single RAM slot ,THAT TOO SOLDERED ONTO THE MOTHERBOARD WITH A SINGLE STICK OF 8GB DDR4 RAM!!!!

Model: ASUS Vivobook M413IA-EK584T

Just an unbiased opinion to be known.
Depends on usage & parameters for comparison. For CPU & GPU performance, R5 4500U is better. For RAM intensive tasks, 16GB RAM gives more breathing room. Both are not meant for high-performance tasks & 8GB RAM is enough for normal tasks.

Still,the 16GB RAM paired with core-i5 10th Gen.,won't give it raw power?
Remember, I AM NEVER/NOT A GAMER.

Ram doesn't give raw power, it only allows you to do more of something.
More chrome tabs, more applications open, more database load that kind of thing.
Cpu actually makes the processing faster.

Thanks ,Friend.

Actually I had purchased a Laptop from Flipkart(Diwali Sale) by MSI,that is:-->
MSI Modern 14 Core i5 10th Gen - (8 GB/512 GB SSD/Windows 10 Home) Modern 14 B10MW-220IN Thin and Light Laptop (14 inch, Black, 1.3 kg)
*Full metal body. Screen aspects much better.RAM is upgradeable, another slot free. But only 1 slot for PCI-e NVME M.2 SSD.You have to replace the 512GB with a higher capacity version if you want.

Shall I exchange with the exact same prize from Flipkart by,this?
Asus VivoBook 14 Ryzen 5 Hexa Core 4500U - (8 GB/512 GB SSD/Windows 10 Home) M413IA-EK582T Thin and Light Laptop (14 inch, Bespoke Black, 1.4 kg)
*Full Plastic(VERY WELL BUILT) Body. Only 8GB RAM,can't upgrade as it is soldered. Screen aspects little bit lower than MSI's. But one extra PCI-e NVME M.2 slot for addition/upgradtion of SSD.

Leaving aside CPU power.

Which is a better deal?

Both costs : Rs49,990.00
Yor expert opinion recalled,Friend.

@kg11sgbg , Hi! I am not expert. But ask yourself if you are satisfied by following points :
1. How is thermal performance.
2. What is your usage? This include screen and RAM related questions you have.
3. Will you ever need to upgrade your 512GB SSD ?
4. Where you are willing to compromise?

These same questions are already mentioned by other Senpai. You need to decide your self kg11sgbg-kun.

1. Very Good. Does not exceeds 40 degrees~50 degrees range. Now it is Autumn time,Winter is ahead. cool weather. Being not a gamer myself, temp. remains within normal range.

2. Learning Python & Java. Leaving asides,Browsing,Listening to Music,Movies. I do watch a lot of YouTube videos on new IT products,Smartphones,DIY,Indian Railways journey and Info.,etc.

3. Now I am on Windows 10. But if I intend to make it a Dual OS Boot machine, along with any Linux OS(Preferably Fedora),then I need a single 1TB PCIe nvme m.2 SSD stick.

4. Processor. I wanted an AMD Ryzen 5 4500U based notebook.

In fact this would had been the best buy,
MSI Modern 14 AMD Ryzen 5 4500U 14" FHD Laptop (8GB/512GB NVMe SSD/Windows 10 Home/Black/1.3Kg ) B4MW-074IN

But my Bad Luck IT IS UNAIVAILABLE as of now.

Don't buy any msi crap
Don't put blind statements IMO. MSI usually had expensive laptops compared to competition & considering inferior after-sales, it was a no brainer to avoid it. Also, their cheap gaming laptops like GF series & Bravo isn't good, so definitely not worth buying. But they do have some decent & good models & at the right price, might be worth getting.

Even Dell has bad laptops in the form of their high-performance models, because of overheating, but they have good multimedia laptops & good after-sales, so worth considering at good price.

Msi doesnt have a decent supply chain for warranty repairs. I would trust a Dell, asus much more than a msi if it goes bad.
lenovo or hp would be the next tier, in terms of warranty support

Msi has changed its rma partner. Kaizen. It is much better.

You are right actually, there's a new rep on IndianGaming from MSI that is personally handling bad cases.. Must be a response to the numerous msi horror stories that were there a year + ago.

these are latest threads I can find.

Overall I think change to Kaizen has made it better. So OP can go with the MSI laptop if he wishes.
