Hi Guys,

1. Budget? As low as possible, 7-10k
2. Display type and size? Best as per the budget
3. Dual sim? Dual 4g
4. Preferred choice of brand? No- Motorola, oppo, vivo etc.
5. What camera option you want (flash, front facing camera)? It should click good photos as per the budget
6. Preferred operating system? (Android, iOS, Windows Phone, etc). Stock/Android One
7. Preferred connectivity options (3G, 4G ready). Please delete this question from the questionnaire or update it @whitestar_999
8. Primary use of handset (multimedia, camera, internet, gaming etc)? Gaming maybe angry birds type. Rest multipurpose like browsing, YT etc.
9. Any specific mobile phones in consideration? Samsung M1, M2
10. Any other info that you want to share- Budget is tight. Need a phone with no notch but only Asus Zenfone Max Pro 1 is in my mind. Is it advisable to buy that one now? Pie will be its last update. If no, if all options are closed then I am thinking about the Samsung M1 or the M2, notch it there and it sucks :(

Notch is too big. I selected Samsung M1 & M2 because of the less, teardrop notch.
Nokia 5.1 Plus (Stock Anrdroid Pie) but MediaTek Helio P60 @ 9.9k

Samsung M20 FHD @ 12k is best for you.
Samsung M10 is not FHD rather HD+ Display with 3400mah battery
where as Nokia 5.1 Plus is 3000mah battery with HD+ display.

Decide which is best for you.

Zenfone max pro m1 6gb(3gb ram version has avg camera, keep that in mind) is a good option if willing to compromise on OS update(majority is still running android M & N currently).

Budget is strictly limited to max 10k, 500-1000 more will be shelled on the cover and screen guard as the online selling phones have expensive accessories. Except the screen and the processor, M10 or 5.1?

Majority are running Android N. The camera in both versions is not acceptable, I am only thinking about it due to the notchless screen.
M10 or 5.1 as mentioned above? Which one do you think will be better?

Xiaomi phones are on good discounts but they have bad os+that notch.

That website gives funny reviews sometimes, I don't trust them.
For camera reviews nothing beats dxomark btw.

Samsung M10 is not worth 10k it doesn't have finger print scanner, display is 720p TFT display, this doesn't have stock android as per your requirement,Samsung may never provide update.
With all your requirements only one phone comes into mind Moto X4 3GB but I know how much you hate moto and pie would be its last update but on positive note it has IP68 rating,Excellent cameras,no notch, premium build(all phone in this range have plastic build) and have stock android.

I know moto has gone down in terms of software updates but within your budget its the best you can get

During BBD sale I bought a Moto Z2 play for my mom for 9k and she is very happy with it.

Timely updates means 5.1
Notchless display means m10 but sadly on updates front, I think nil other than their high end models. Even their high end models are now getting updated to Pie, I mean 1 year or 2 years old models.
But I prefer M20 when you are going with Samsung.
Other than this no issues.

I would stick with some button phone rather than moto. The cureent moto brand is ruining the good old moto's image. Do you know why they are updating G4/G4+ to pie? Because of backlash from users. They will brand your 6 months old device as outdated just like op. Op do provide updates but not on priority basis after 6 months.
About m10 I am more than happy with Samsung One ui and they will update it to atleast Android Q but you are right, rest of the specs suck.
Would you suggest Asus m2, the lowest end model, over M10/20?
The Nokia one is cool but it does not have service centers everywhere.

It's 5.1 vs Zenfone M2 now. The notch is too big in M2 and it's the biggest con.

Asus Max Pro M1 is good for under 10k even now. Asus Max M2 (not Pro) seems a bit inferior due to lower res screen & chipset but might have a better selfie camera. M1's selfie cam was just average IMO but my expectations might be a bit high, my cousin was happy with it though.

Another option is Nokia 5.1 plus, which has best chipset for the price but a 720p display. Most users should be fine. 1080p is perfect for smartphones, 1440p is overkill (not needed IMO).

I think Pie as the only update for a 10k phone is great. Even Samsung M10/M20 might not get Q considering they didn't even launch with Pie. Expecting more than 1 update for a sub 15k phone is too much. Asus did initially say that M1 might get updated to Q, but wordings were vague. Considering no Pie update till now, I'd say no Q is realistic.

Your link is not opening. I was talking about max pro 2. If it didn't had that notch then I would have gone for for it.

Except the os and screen type m2 is beating 5.1 and the plus too. Is the tft screen that bad? How are the processors in both? And these are both dual 4g right.

M20 has a good TFT screen according to reviews, so not a deal breaker. Max Pro M2 is just the best option at that price, just get it. Notch is not as large as Poco or 5.1 plus or iPhones, so its ok I guess. Not sure if it has hide notch functionality, if it does, better.

M20 vs Pro M2, I'd say M2 has a better camera, chipset & stock OS. Samsung M20 is definitely a good option unlike earlier J series. Geekyranjit said something about M20 having some minor lags, so I'm not sure if its just a software optimization thing or the OS is still heavy for a mid-range chipset (it is between S625 & S636, so S660 is a lot superior).

Thanks Brother. Both these phones have dual 4g right?
