Medium High End PC Under Budget :

I want to build a medium high end PC.

The processor i've choosen is Core i7 6700k .

But at the moment my budget is 40k INR only.

That means GPU is excluded. I will buy it after saving some money ( Medium High End

GPU)

along with it,

HDD , Monitor, keyboard, mouse and Case is also excluded.

so what i would need is - SDD(250gb or 120gb) , MOBO , RAM (Preferably 8GB) and

PSU ( i already have a ZEB 450W - (would it be enough?) and others which are

important.

At The Moment The purpose of this build is only To Setup The system and get it

running.

Key question : How can I budgetify i7 processor with above required components ! .

Mainly The MOBO under 40K .

Question 2 : If i want to change the MOBO in future for any required feature , Will

there be any problem regarding CPU configuration and Windows 10 ? (according to my

knowledge it will ask product key and the CPU socket should match) - anything else i

might need to be aware of?.

also i have chosen 6700K - that means i have to buy z series mobo but It wont

probably fit into my budget at the moment. maybe i can buy non-Z series and later

save money and buy Z series MOBO and a medium HIGH end GPU. and since saving

money will take me 4-6 months more for better GPU . so right now 40K is the strict

budget for me.

Basically - It's Medium High End PC Build With Monthly Installments (Monthly enough

like 4-6 months :D)

Main Purpose for the Moment : Setup The System and Get It Running ! ( Ignore my

negligence - Thank you! )

Your budget isn't enough for an i7-6700k rig even if GPU and other peripherals are excluded.

Good non-z mobo will cost around 9-10k at the least and buying it now just to replace it later with a z-series one will simply be a waste of money.

Mobo would take 9-10k …!!! I thought maybe around 5-6k . And I have chosen processor K version so that later in future I can just upgrade MoBo and learn to overclock it and use it for more time. Also how much does retail shop and online prices differ? , any chance reducing component and fitting into budget? Surely Amazon prices are high ! ….

Drop SSD and get a good PSU considering you gonna overclock.
This is what you can get now. Just a rough pricing,
~ 650w tier 3 or better PSU - 6.5k
H110 board 4.5k
i7 - 26.5k
8 gigs RAM - 4.5k

No I'm not gonna overclock it anytime soon . I'm just choosing K processor to just run it little longer. Also I'm not sure if H series Mobo you suggested allows overclocking and SSD Is for Operating System and maybe few other programs. But when I do overclock I will surely change the PSU. Or if I could just extend it to 45K INR.....

No, you can't overclock with H110 board. Since you said, to get it running, H110 is suffice for that
Since your budget is not good enough, dropping SSD is the best idea instead of sticking with your Zebronics PSU. Even for not overclocking, this PSU is not advisable esp. when you spend this much for i7. I hope you don't want to fry your brand new i7.

You want longevity of your system ? and only want to use all the power in future not urgently ?

then this is a bad time to buy i7 processor , if you want it then get a second hand , don't buy a new one..

There are 2 options -

1) Wait 1-2 months for AMD Ryzen CPU launch and get that , it will be cheaper than intel and will give you more bang for the buck + longevity ( recommended )
or
2) get something basic for now and buy i7 next year ..that will give you maximum longevity as i7 will be 6 core from next year , i5 likely will be what i7 is today... bad time to buy i7 this year

CPU's don't have that big of an impact on games beyond 4 powerful threads currently .. much better to get a mid range cpu and spend that savings on GPU

and please replace the PSU before buying new components , don't do gaming on that PSU

you can buy a Samsung 750 Evo 120 gb SSD .. fastest SSD for cheap..

That's some good information there! Thank you. If you are right … I shall wait it out then and see how much ryzen would cost but rumors suggest that it would definitely be more than 30k but of course who knows…. I will wait until ryzen and accordingly decide whether or not to buy a basic rig and wait for Intel next year ! I will approach to this thread for any further queries later in future. Thank you again :)

Just waiting , waiting until you get tired of. If you wait for another 3 months AMD Ryzen arrives then another 4 months of waiting Intel Cannonlake arrives. It keeps on going until you will be tired of waiting buddy.

Just get the below config and its enough for your purpose.

Budget -40K

Intel Core i5 6600K -18000,
Gigabyte GA-Z170-D3H -12000,
Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB 2400Mhz -4500,
Seasonic S12II 520w -5500.
TOTAL -40,000.

Simple Google search tells that There's a Game Developer Conference Between 27 Feb and March 3rd and Ryzen is expected to release by 3rd March (maybe) .. I'll wait until 3rd March and decide whether I should go with your suggested Build Or just build basic rig for now as suggested by gta5 and buy a good GPU until Canonlake

I agree with that for most cases :)

but look at OP
1) he is planning a long term build
2) Doesn't need it urgently now .. he is planning to buy a GPU 4-6 months later , what will he do with i7/i5 now ?
unless he requires that for professional/heavy rendering purposes .. it will sit and eat dust
3) Is budget constrained

Ryzen launch is just a month away , and it will be much better price/performance than intel .. otherwise AMD won't be able to sell CPU's
amd is coming after 5 years with a huge upgrade...

CPU's aren't like GPU that improve drastically every year or 2 .. these are long term components.. difference between 2011 Sandy bridge and 2017 Kaby lake is only 30 % in 6 years , i5 2500k aged so well .. Cannon lake is a very minor update .. it makes sense if you can wait then upgrade at the time when update is big improvement

But with coffelake intel is adding 2 more cores.. this is big after long time.. i7 have been on 4 cores.... it will improve performance substantially as games start using more threads , not to mention price

Look at pentium G4560 , how it has made i3 6100 look like a joke .. no "informed person" will pay more than 5.5k for a i3 6100 when you can get new pentium g4560 under 5k ( *bwindia.net/buy/cpu-intel-pentium-dual-core-g4560-7th-gen-35-ghz-socket-1151)

.. those who bought i3 6100 2 months ago would be regretting it now at least those who were on strict budget and could wait had they known..

so it depends on timing and type of user..... it's best to give options/info to OP and then he can choose as per his needs.. And i am not recommending him i7 , i am saying just atleast wait for ryzen and see how it goes
announcement only 1 month away..

just my 2 paisa :)

You're welcome :)
pricing will be announced next month , but if they want to make any sales they will have to give much better price/performance than intel , there is no other way.. and there will be many models covering different price points

^^ +1 to above configuration. Also, I remember i5 6600k was somewhere at 16k and same mobo at 11k in nehru place, delhi. So, you may get this in little lesser.
