I do not fear computers. I fear the lack of them
So I've used Android for years now on my trusty NEXUS 4 and have accomplished quite a lot on that fragile little thing, and being the true nerd (HAIL DIGIT!) I've rooted, flashed, bricked it many a times I've lost count.

But its time for a change and now i just don't have the time to play around anymore and would like something simple and elegant to suit my primal needs of WhatsApping, Selfies(as much as i hate it) and Music.

Apple being the "creme de la creme" right now, caught my attention with the simplicity and elegance its known for.

Although I am not for spending 60k for it since am just a beginner at the Apple IOS ecosystem, I am willing to check out the older version such as the 5/5s/5c.

Windows on the other hand, i have no clue. So please, any suggestions are welcome.

To sum up:
1> BUDGET: 25K( 2nd hand also considerable)
2>DISPLAY AND SIZE: 4.7 inch or less.
3>DUAL SIM: Its fine either way.
4>BRAND: APPLE OR ANY WINDOWS PHONE.
5>PRIMARY USE: INSTANT MESSAGING, PHOTOS/VIDEOS,MUSIC, INTERNET.
Again, it would be good if some pro's and con's of the above can be mentioned as i have no clue about the IOS/WINDOWS ecosystems.
Thanks and peace to you all!
p.s: I wouldn't mind second hand phones too, so if you have an Iphone lying around, please PM me.

unless you have some compulsion to spend 25k i suggest getting lumia 730 for around 13k & spend a few hundred(maybe a thousand) later to buy good windows apps.better still, wait for a few weeks for the launch of windows 10 mobiles here.also read this review:
Amazon.in:Customer Reviews: Apple iPhone 5c (Pink, 8GB)
if you still think spending 25k on iphone is worth it then go ahead.

They have a pink one :D
Like I said, I don't mind either of them I've used IOS before and I found it fluid, Windows on the other hand I have no experience, hence the doubt

as far as total user experience is concerned iOS wins hands down as per majority.check olx for local sellers for used iphone 5.

I don't think old iPhones stand a chance against mid range androids.
iPhone 6 has Sony Z3C & Samsung Alpha as its competitors, still its priced double(almost)
Also going from N4 to even a 5S, you will start disliking the small screen

AS far as WP is concerned, L730 is a good phone (Don't buy 830).... There are no good WP phones in 20k price range

Maybe just buy L730 now, use it for a year, then get something else next year or wait for few more months for the successor of L830

As far as pros n cons are concerned, ios & wp willl give much less customization options (no launchers, etc), iOS will give a headache due to iTunes (also u can't just download a mp3 or video into your phone directly & play it, some friend was saying about it, not sure) & the feature of iOS due to which iPhone users are trolled in India, lack of bluetooth file transfer. In iOS you won't feel the lack of apps, but in WP you will surely feel it

As I was a N4 user myself, I will say I'm never going back to a Nexus again.

Thank you for your reply!
So I guess lack of customization and little tweaks would be missing if I switch over huh? Screen size on the 5s isn't a problem for me. I don't necessarily need any benchmarks to select a phone here, just a simple UI and an uncluttered ecosystem.
What was your issue with the N4? She served me well and continues to do so.

Battery life.... And I started hating stock android (personal opinion) even though my phone was rooted, as you know phones with custom ROMs will never be as stable as stock ROM which manufacturer provides. I'm just done with the world of rooting. My Z3C is running stock ROM, not even rooted. I wanted Alpha but then it has an average battery life(iPhones also provide similar battery life, except for 6s)

Currently happy with Z3C

OK as far as screen size is concerned, my dad's friend used Galaxy Note for a year, afterwards he tried to switch to S4 but after a month he had to sell his S4 n go for a phablet. One of my friend also faced this. That's why i warned. When using a small phone for a few minutes you might feel you can live with it but after sometime, you'll miss the big screen( 4.7" to 4" is a big jump)

Wow. That's true. The screen size could definitely pose a problem. Custom ROMs and quick updates is why I went for the N4 is the first place, but again I just lost interest after a while. Thanks again! Much appreciated!

May i add something here*

About the 8 GB internal storage of Lumia 730.You can move any apps or media files such as music, videos to the sd card. There is no limitation like android in the windows OS.You can load as many games or apps you want as per your sd card size.Just buy a 64 GB micro sd card and enjoy!
