I want to gift a phone to my younger brother next week. So here goes

1. Budget - 10K

2. Display type and size - <= 5 inches

3. Dual sim - Preferrably but not a deal breaker

4. Preferred choice of brand - Anyone with good ASS and Dev. support

5. What camera option you want - The back camera should be good enough to deal with scenic routes

6. Preferred operating system - Android or Windows

7. Preferred connectivity options - 3G is enough

8. Primary use of handset - Social Networking, music and office365 type of work

9. Any specific mobile phones in consideration - None

10. Any other info that you want to share - Decent battery life

Lumia 640 or Yuphoria.

For good dev support on android phones, you need good specifications which companies with "good" ASS lack in your budget.

anupam_pb Will moto g be enough for next 2 years and all? As for yuphoria, a few friends complained primarily about its build quality. Will it be worth the price tag?

How about k3 note?

Moto g will have better build quality than the k3 note although both are lenovo . I've seen that the moto range of phones have better build quality than the lenovo a series (6000,7000@) range . Moto g has no 4 g . Maybe you can wait for the moto g3 ? Else redmi 2s when it comes or redmi 2 .

K3 Note is better than Moto G 2nd gen in all terms except compactness & dev support

If you can ignore dev support, Honor 4C is also worth a look.

Better get it if size isn't a problem

Moto G 3rd gen should be released within a month at approx 13k

If you need good A.S.S & dev support, get Moto G 2nd gen

2nd gen Moto G is still a solid mobile for the offered price but it'll be a shame if 3rd gen appears for same price while boosting a ARMv8/64bit chipset. And as reports point to 2 SKUs (1GB ram + 8GB rom & 2GB ram + 8GB rom), it is very likely the first SKU will cost 9999, if Motorola wants to remain competitive.

I agree....13k might be the price for 2GB RAM one

Motorola Confirms Launch Event for July 28, Next Gen Moto G and Moto X Incoming. India should get a separate launch event sometime in August.

Samsung J2 with almost identical spec cost 12k. And the first thing people will do is compare it to J2 and beat Motorola's price advantage to death, Even with 4G, 3rd gen shouldn't cross 12k mark.
