Ok so after lot of researching I finally Purchased Nikon 5200 with Kit Lense ... After 2-3 days with It I was happy but after some time I spotted A Spot in the View Finder It Was A Manufacturing Defect and I Went To Service Center Directly For It , the Service Guy Inspected It And Said It Was A Physical Damage And Refused To Take It To Him... So I Complaint That It even was not 10 days old. then I went straight to the place from where I bought it and the Guy there Called Him and Told Him that I Was Right ,So The Nikon Service Center Took It on 19 April.... After 15 Days They Finally Gave It Back to Me and I inspected the Camera there and there Was No Spot on the view finder , he said that the pentaprism was replaced... Till I Got home to Check it in Proper Light there Were Few Dust Particle on the Prism and Mirror .... I Just used a air Blower to clean it and it was gone... now the Real Problem Starts... I didn't Change Lens On The Camera from the Day I Got It Back and today is may 18. neither did I Opened it for Cleaning ... But the Dust Just Started Growing And Growing In the Camera... Now Today I Was Seeing Little Particles All Over the View Finder and I Was Unable to Get through it ... .

After Some time I Took burst Shots at 5 Fps and I Heard Some Cracking noise From the Camera and nothing is Visible from the View Finder ... opening the Lens out there is Translucent Screen Lying in The Mirror Box along with a bent Clip... What the Hell ... Is this Nikon Service ...giving broken old parts with Replacement !!! I think I made a bad decisions by going for nikon should have got any other brand :x

the best thing to do is to write an email to nikon india. Their reply is pretty prompt and they will surely replace the lens or the whole kit if you tell them about the whole incident.

The covering or the translucent thing above pentaprisim is broken down ater that shot and the mirror git major scratches...its the fault of the guy who fixed the replacement parts ie the prism and now that had cost me my mirror .... Dont know what to do .. Will visit service center on Monday...

What I want to say is that after the shots that I tooj the focusing screen has fallen off and the clip holding it is also bent scratching my mirror and the screen itself...how can this happen as I never touched that part.. But may be its due the improper fitting while replacement as it was the same part that was scratched... Or had the spot on it.. So what to do now...its lying in the mirror box

Yes. Writing to the bigies is the best thing to do here. And further, since you know how to operate a DSLR, dont give in to any of their typical bullshitting about improper handling and stuff. While it may be the case with some issues, I believe you know more than well how to use one.

Ok So today I Went to Nikon Service Center .. First He Said that this was his first time dealing with this type of damage and kept on telling me that I dropped the camera .. the focusing screen was damaged badly !!! Secondly After waiting 30 min they replaced my focusing screen and gave it to me to check ... there were major scratches and dust visible on the view finder so I gave the camera back to them for that to fix it .. I think the Mirror has been scratched too.

When They Opened it he said that the Holder for focusing screen was not their when I told him I didn't drop any thing and it was not there !!!
Later One of their Worker was saying that they might have forgot to put the holder at first place !!

pathetic..

nikon service is very good..

but there are complaints once in a while.

it is the service centre's fault. you should ask them to replace the whole camera.. not repair it.

if they refuse, mail/call nikon service head and tell everything. they'll help.

best of luck!!

They Refused To Replace and I Know that it was Service Center Fault as when their head Opened My Dslr he said where the frame for the focusing screen and I said there wasn't any..Now the Good part is ... when I reached the Service Center They said You Sent A Email to Nikon... As They Were tensed ... Second the Replaced the Broken Parts within 15 min but there were Plastic from the broken screen all over the view finder and I Even gave it back to them for Cleaning and Repairing .. said It Might Take 2 days !!!

Here The reply From Nikon to Email.. they CC it the Service Center too !!

Thats good to know. I suggest you write back to Nikon India thanking them for the response but expressing clear displeasure at the service meted out to you by the service centre guys whoo were not only careless in the reassembly, but also tried to shut the matter by claiming that you (who knows how to handle a DSLR) were at fault of mishandling it, with these service centre guys in CC. That should get them in a fix. This dealer obviously is answerable to Nikon ultimately.
