Are you set on the 6600 cause i would suggest you go with amd phenom II 940 if you can extend your budget otherwise go for 920 . And for mobo go with a 780g based board. Suggested brand for motherboard : msi
for video card go for ati radeon 4350.suggested brands- sapphire, msi. Will cost you around 2000. If you want something better go for the 4650. Will cost you around 3800.

Your current Q6600 is more expensive than the budget you've set for your next processor. I think your current setup is perfectly fine for Windows 7. Just spend the money on a decent graphics card and you're good to go. I suggest going in for a GeForce GTX 260. I'm assuming you're a gamer :) If you're not, then a 9400GT or a 9500GT will be good enough.

Agreed.
If you want to buy hardware, buy AMD now or wait for core i5, which will arrive by next year. Decent GFX and a nice PSU (CM Real Power Pro 550W or Corsair VX 550W at least) for GTX 260.

If you just want to run windows 7, minimum go for the 9500GT as it will allow you to game a bit too. If u can spend a little more, ATI HD 4670 512MB and 9600GT are available for 4.5/5k.

What's your config now?

it depends on what you want to do in windows 7. if you want to just boot into it and stare at aero desktop, even onboard 780G is enough. can you please be a bit more clear? Are you a gamer or developer or surfer or AV editor.....

I am a developer, i don't wanna play game in it

I just want all the features of WINDOWS 7 enabled in minimum range.

Also to add i don't want to buy AMD models

If you wanna buy Intel, then wait. Core i5 is coming and if you buy core 2 now, then ur system will be left in the cold when core i5 arrives.

Q6600 is either out of stock or priced around 12k.
Core i5 prices will come down with time. What is your config now? Please post even PSU and GFX alongwith proc and mobo and ram.

Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz @ 12.4k
Core 2 Quad Q8400 2.66GHz @ 9.9K
Core 2 Duo E7500 2.93GHz @ 6.9k
Core 2 Duo E7400 2.8GHz @ 5.6k

This is what Intel looks like now. Choose if you want to buy.

Q6600(u'll spend over 10k anyway!), but it is overpriced. The Q8400 is better price-wise @ 9.9k. If you are getting a mobo, get at least MSI P45 NEO F @ 5k approx.

If you get over your AMD-phobia, u'll get much better performance with AMD Phenom II X4 940 @ 9.7k or Phenom II X4 920 @ 9k!

Intel Q8400 - 8750 (supports virtualization)
MSI P43 Neo-F 3800

(OR) Intel Quad Q9550 - 11750
MSI P45 Neo3-FR V2 - 6825

You can get the above components at a much lesser price.

Get the MSI P45 Neo3-FR V2 or MSI P-45 NEO-F @5k at least. The G31 chipset is not what you want for a quad core system.

ADD: Q9550 is 11.2k!!!

So I think this will work good

Intel® Core™2 Quad Processor Q8400 @ 2.66GHz
MSI P45 Neo3-FR V2

Just tell me now with this spec I am not gonna buy a new GFX CARD as the total cost that i have set for these two is 13000, and buying a gfx card will further increase my budegt. So with the motherboard i have chosen am i able to use aero shake in windows 7

I really doubt that.

My questions to you :

  1. Do you need a quad core rig?
  2. Can you settle for a fast dual core rig?
If yes, then you can get the Core 2 Duo E7500 @ 6k and save 2k that way. So 6k + 6.8k = 12.8k. Within your budget for a nice spanking rig. Get G-Skill 2x2GB RAM for 3k and get a solid GPU like the Palit GTS 250 512MB @ 7.3k or the Sapphire HD4870 512MB @ 8.8k.

But since you don't game, the bare minimum that you can buy and yet have a nice rig which you don't need to upgrade for quite some time would be 9600GT @ 5k or HD4670 1GB @ 4.5k.

Plus, if you don't have a good PSU, I suggest you get Corsair VX450W @ 4k or at least Corsair CX400W.

In case you can't do without quad core, take this one and save some money this way. Buy the RAM, GFX and PSU and enjoy Windows 7. :D
