Comment on my new system :)

hi, just baught this new system . pls make some comments if these r perfect or not that good.

processor : Core 2 Duo E8400 (45nm) = 8500/-
mobo : DG31PR (no i m not an over clocker!) =2950/-
ram : 2 X 1GB Transcend 667MHz (667 X 2 = 1333 is good is perfect match i think) = 2X1049/-
smps : cooler master eXtreme power plus 500W (18AX2 @ 12V) = 2700/-
gfx : XFX 8800gt 512 MB = 8500/-

> i m a bit worried abt that mobo - not sure if it makes any bottleneck to my processor or gfc card.

but it has another issue as well , idle , the G31 chipset runs at 75C ......thats HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT ! not sure what i should do . but when i use a cabinet air intake fan directly fact the cpu/mobo its shows 66C around temp.

> the cpu runs @ 34C case , but ~51C(0), 45C(1) cores. not sure if 16-17C diff between core and case temp is ok or not.

> gfx runs cools idle :D @ 56C as there is another air intake case fan just facing it.

> also someone suggest me a load test tool pls. TAT did nt run in my system - said "incompatible cpu"

(all temps with speedfan... core temp shows +10C, real temp shows -5C)

which 8 pin connector u r talking abt ? if its 8 pin for PCI , then no, i m not lokking forword for a replacement of my 8800 gt so soon . if its 8 pin EPS, i don run parellel processors , neither thinking abt replacing my E8400 in near future.*www.thinkdigit.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

future mobo's are going to need a 8pin connector to the mobo which is presently a 4 pin connector. . corsair vx450 offers 4 + 4 pin for mobo while CM offers only 4 pin. .

HP Officejet Pro L7580 MFP

In my opinion there is too less feedback on MFPs/MFDs available in India. So here's my bit of info for those interested.

Bought a HP Officejet Pro L7580 MFP a month back as well as a HP H470 portable printer. The L7580 performs very fast, good prints so far and meets my needs. The following points need to be noted for future buyers of L7580.

HP L7580 MFP
1. Printer is fast, good prints even in draft mode. Standard inks finish fast. Go for XXL inks.
2. For those that need it, HP support will tell you that the MFP scans and prints legal. It scans legal only thru ADF not flatbed.
3. It cannot copy legal one to one but legal to letter.
4. Cannot duplex legal.
5. Can however print legal from PC.
6. The wireless card is difficult to get hold of.
7. Standalone scanner is better if you need OCR.

HP H470 portable
1. Slow
2. Not very small. Need a separate bag to carry it.
3. Otherwise Ok. Advantage her is that battery included. Canon you pay extra for battery.
4. Again wireless card not available. Sucks.
