For performance reasons I have moved from kdemod to xfce. I am slowly starting to like xfce and I want to have a long and healthy relationship with it. Please help me get started. I use Arch i686 and my rig is in my siggy.

I installed xfce4, xfce4-goodies, xchat, firefox and xine. Anything else ?

^It would be helpful if you specified clearly what you need.
But here are a few apps i use.

Bluefish/Geany - Lightweight IDE.
GQView/Mirage - Image Viewer.
Sonata/Gimmix - MPD Clients.

I surely remember giving the following URL to someone on the IRC channel - *wiki.xfce.org/recommendedapps

I also installed lxde. Is it good ? I don't think LXDE is very great, but with the exception of OpenBox, its apps rock.

And yes, I installed Graveman! disc burner. It rocks, except for the fact that it can't verify written discs.

OK, LXDE kissed goodbye.
GPicView rocks.
Graveman! rocks.
I use md5sum to verify discs.
Xine-UI is sweet, but is there something better ?
Kazehakase is AWSSOME. Its very light compared to Firefox, but it lacks some features.

HOW do I install THEMES in Xfce ??

Extract the theme file to ~/.themes/ or /usr/share/themes/

Alternatively , you could write a custom action using xarchiver to do it , if you find it irritating to do it manually.

It should be if you extracted properly.

Order shud be
Code:
~/.themes/<Theme-Name>/gtk-2.0/gtkrc

If its like that , the theme will be shown in User Interface Settings.

^They are xfwm4 themes.
They can be set in Settings>Window Manager

Still order persists.
Code:
~/.themes/<Theme-Name>/xfwm4/<theme-files>
