1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans:1080p gaming(2012-mid 2014 pc releases) and ps2/ngc/wii emulation expecting 45+ fps looking forward to metro last light witcher 3 and dark souls 2 without any frame drops

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans:70K upperlimit can reconcile with 65K if it offers better value for money

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans:No

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans:Win 8/7 ; steam os

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans:500 gigs ( have around 4tb of external hdd )

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans:No

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans:Monitor, Speaker, Mouse, Mouse Pad, UPS

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans:November - Mid December depending on upcoming product launches

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans:No, currently living in Miyapur Hyderabad if you can lend a hand would gladly accept (treat assured).

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans:Just moved in Hyderabad don't have much idea about local dealers. I'm comfortable with online but would prefer if local but logistics would be a pain in the ass. Help would be appreciated .

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: R9 280x has piqued my interest. a well balanced configuration around that would be preferred.

Get 2 x 4GB ram instead of single 8gb.

What resolution is your monitor? If it isn't 1080p then no point getting 280X

Hi,

Just a doubt. If the OP is not planning to overclock and is going to use a dicrete GPU, why is Xeon processors not recommended?

Intel Xeon E3-1230 v3 will be good for an additional rs. 2500/-. This processor was available in Bangalore SP road for 16,000+ a month back.

I quote my prices from flipkart etc. so they are on higher side. You cannot compare my prices here with local prices. For ex I purchased i5 4570 recently for 12900 locally in Allahabad.

Xeon E3-1230 is good but not worth the extra bucks IMO

Xeon E3-1230 is worth the cost since it is essentially an i7 without the inbuilt graphics and costs way less than those i7s.
