I use my HP Dv6-6165tx almost like a desktop. I use a samsung 1080p monitor (hdmi) and wireless keyboard/ mice with it.
My laptop now has a samsung ssd and 8 gigs of ram.
The problem is, I'm done cleaning the cpu fan every month due to excessive dust accumulation. And hence I need a desktop.
I have a home inverter so UPS is not necessary.
1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans:
I work mainly on backups and transfer (high speed), Photoshop, AutoCAD, Android development, Browse the internet (with hundred tabs opened)
and little bit of Gaming (Max Payne 3, Hitman 2016, Farcry 4, Farcry Primal etc).
2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans:
My budget is 20k, max is 25k (Mobo, processor, RAM, PSU, Cabinet, SSD)
3. Planning to overclock?
Ans:
Not really.
4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans:
Windows 10 64 bit/ Linux
5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans:
an SSD (probably Samsung SSD 120GB or whatever according to budget)
6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans:
No, already have a 24" 1080p monitor with HDMI.
7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans:
Keyboard, mouse, monitor, optical drive(DVD/BD Rom), UPS not needed.
8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans:
This month.
9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans:
Yes, will do it myself.
10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans:
amazon or flipkart
11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Won't go for Gigabyte Mobo (have bad experences). Will go for an UEFI mobo with USB 3/3.1[if within budget] header and HDMI, extra PCI-e for latter addons and minimum 4 sata 3 6GBps ports),
a good processor (CPU cache 6MB or more which supports virtualization- vmware vbox etc),
8/16 GB RAM (single channel, will add another later), and a small cabinet.
Will add graphics card later. The PC will run almost 24x7.
I have these in mind.
MSI H110M-PRO-VH PLUS 6th Generation DDR4 MotherBoard
Intel Pentium G4400 Skylake Dual-Core 3.3GHz Desktop Processor
Crucial CT8G4DFS8213 8GB 2133MHz DDR4 288-Pin Desktop Memory
Corsair CP-9020052-WW VS Series VS350 350 Watt Power Supply Unit (Black)
Any suggestions will be greaty appreciated.
