y510p i5 vs i7 : Which one is more vfm ?

Hello fellas, I am in dire need of your helpful suggestions,
I am planning to buy a y510p but I am confused b/w the i5 and i7 variant,
1. At INR 52,000 (Snapdeal/any other online retailer), is y510p i5 variant more vfm option ?
2. what's the ideal price for i7 variant and is it worth to spend extra 10-15k for i7? In a gist, does i7 adds considerably to the years after which it becomes obsolete, and whether the performance difference justifies additional 10-15k?
3. I am planning to buy it online(not from the do store), is there any recent horror story regarding warranty?

Don't buy online!
Damn serious issues and court case!
Basically i7 depends on you!
If you are into graphics rendering or that sort of thing;i7 required!

Or else for gaming and college use go i5 version!

First of all, thanks dude for replying ,

I am shattered to know that my online y510p hunt has turned worthless :pullhair:
In the local market y510p i5 costs 59500-60500, there is a straight difference of 7k :-(.
even flipkart/amazon are not reliable for such purchase?

You have to take a risk regarding the purchase. Chances are there that you might got it and vice versa. Negotiate the prices and you can get a good deal.

Dude I am getting my i5 Y510p for 56k from Lenovo exclusive store in Pune!
Plus 3 years warranty absolutely free free free!(Ongoing promo)

What did I do?
Tell them I want to buy laptop without accessories(They are not simply worth it!(-1500)
Don't take laptop bag!(-800)
Tell them I want to pay full amount in cash(You will get cash discount)

Effective price= 56k

Bargain dude common!

See basically additional 4k will fetch you
1.A high end mouse
2.A very good sack
3.Good mousepad
4.You definitely don't need speakers! Inbuilt sound is top notch(kudos to JBL)
5. Last but not the least it will fetch you a good notebook cooler!

$hadow & kunalgujrathi : Thanks a ton fellas for clearing the mist of doubts I had and introducing me to the tangible threats of online purchasing. Though the local dealer in my town is a lil bit complex to bargain with, but Hey, y510p is worth the effort. kunalgujrathi: those killer tips will help me for sure, thanks again :)

I bought my Y500 @ 64.5k from flipkart when local dealer was quoting 67k. FK is reliable

I would say, you better go with the 56k deal for the i5 version

So, contacted the local dealer, tried my best to negotiate, But, the best he was willing to offer was Y510p i5 variant for 59k and that too for cash, and I was like - Is it 1st of april, are you kidding me?
Told him that for that price why would I be buying from him if I can get the same from do store itself. And after a conversation involving topics from various domain spaning from life of a lenovo gaming laptop to his profit margin these days, he told me this - Only downside when buying online is getting screwed up with an imported product not having "lenovo India" warranty, that's it  and after staring him for approx 30 odd seconds in the eye I do believe he meant it :p
So if it can be ensured that Lenovo india warranty is being provided - all is well.
So, guys I am left with no option but to buy online.

So I am left with the following choice -

Y510p i5 @ INR 55k v/s Y510p i7 @ 68k

Please folks speak up your mind, and help me decide.

P.S. I do know that Y50 has been launched, but I sincerely doubt that it will materially affect the prices of Y510p since in the same has happened in US also, please do tell what do you think of the

Just get the I5 version and be done with it.The GPU will become outdated faster than the CPU, so two years from now when the 750M is lying in the Category 3 GPU's it won't matter whether you have an I5 or an I7

Cheers!

I dont thing 750M will be in catagory 3 in 2 yrs time cuz Nvidia will probably have mobile GPUs like 820M or 920M or whatever at that time that will still be weaker than the current 750M. The GTX 580M is still Catagory 1 class and its like, 3 yrs old maybe??
