Hi! to all members..
I already have a P III, 866 MHz, 128 MB SD RAM, 80 GB + 20 GB HDDs machine with a SAMSUNG DVD combo.
I am currently working on a project that uses really resource hungry software (Oracle, Visual Studio 2005). (Also I will try VISTA in future.)
I thought of upgrading my configuration to meet my requirements, also I wanted to buy a home theatre system.
Now I'm planning to build a m/c that will satisfy all my needs (Workstation, Media Center and Gaming [not high-end] ) with a rough configuration below :
Mother Board + Dual Core Processor (budget: Rs. 18K-20K)
Graphics Card 256 MB (Budget: 2K-5K)
RAM 1 GB atleast (Budget: 5K)
Wireless keyboard and mouse (range 10 meter) (Budget: 2K)
4.1 Speakers (Budget: 2K)
HDD 160 GB+ (Optional, can use the older one) (Budget: the leftover
)
TV tuner card (Budget: 2K)
Can you please help me out in building a machine that fits my budget?

I read a lot of review about AMD and Pentium D dual core processors. Considering that both of them debuted not very long back.. how can we say which one would be more reliable in the long run.
Also suggest compatible mother boards.

Instead of planning to buy a new Monitor, I wish to use my TV as the display device. Will a TV tuner card enable me to do so?
Also I want to know - "can I exploit the power of my current CPU along with the new one I will purchase using clustering or any other technology (keeping the current OS i.e. Windows XP)?"
To the digit team:
Can you please tell where do we get the electronic goods at the prices you mention in your magazine?
