windows mediaplayer error

while trying to play a cd in windows mediaplayer i got an error message code 60070001. the player stopped.can please tell the solution?

General solutions:
> Try vlc media player.[google is god] If it plays you need proper codecs to play it in WMP.
> It is quite possible that the Cd is damaged or scratched.

give the information about which version u r using and type of file u had tried to open...
first of all try to install k-lite codecs pack... which will helpp u to open almost all kind of files in wmp...
