Hello All,

Well i have been having problems accessing my hard drives from my computer.

Whenever i click any of my hard drives ( C: or D: ) from my computer, i cant get access to them, instead i get error message that
" Windows Cannot find 'rose.exe', select search from start to locate the file ".

I cannot access any of my drives from my computer but i can access through Windows Explorer.

I have updates my system with virus and spyware scans, and there is no thread and virus definition is updated.

i cant understand the problem..

Can anyone help me to solve the problem...

Many Thanks

vishesh

It is a virus. See if it runs in your background using TaskManager. If it is then remove it.

In your explorer window, goto Tools>Folder Options>File Types. Then navigate to Drive(It must be 2nd or 3rd option from the top)
Click Advanced button. Then in the new window opened, there may entry be entry something related to rose.exe. Delete it!
Then click New..[/i] and put the action name as Open and in the lower txt box(Application used to perform action) navigate to your explorer.exe file. or just put this entry including the quotation marks:
"C:\Windows\explorer.exe" "%1"
assuming ur setup is in C drive.

This must help.

Yeah, what blueshift said is right. Probably the virus associated itself to the drive type, so that it can be executed everytime you open your drive. Not it must have been moved or deleted, thats why its giving this error.

Your PC was infected with WORM_SETROX.A. The antivirus software has removed the virus, but the registry entry is still existing.

Start>Run
Type "regedit" click Ok
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>Microsoft>Windows>CurrentVersion>Run
In the right panel, locate and delete the entry:
dll = "C:\system32\rose.exe"
Close Registry Editor
Restart the PC.
