Why long drives in automatic cars may be dangerous for you

Why we don't get dial type gear knobs in Automatic cars in India ? Even the international version of Creta got dial knob where as in India, gear lever is provided.

Cost cutting, most likely. Premium cars like BMW, Audi, might have those. Heck even Honda Accord & Camry are not affordable for most here unlike US or EU.
