The n270 is a 'n' series processor or netbook family, whereas z520 or z530 is a mobile category processor. The z series is smaller and has a lower TDP compared to n series family. The n series is cheaper than z series, because the z series also supports Poulsbo chipset which has native support for H.264, MPEG-4 and VC-1 decoding and is GMA500 based and supports DirectX10 whereas GMA950 doesn't. This makes the z series smaller, efficient and cooler to run videos and also Vista capable. This explains the price of the z series
N270 (1.60)- $44
Z520 (1.33)- $40
Z530 (1.60)- $65
Z540 (1.86)- $135
Even though z540 is faster, it also costs more than double to z530 thats the reason we have not seen a z540 netbook still.

Don't worry. You made the right choice.
I only wish Intel starts shipping Atom N330 and N270 with G31 chipset.
