hello friends..I am in a bit confusion..Please help me..

I want to upgrade my Mobo as well as the Processor..My budget is around..11K extendable to 12K..for the processor and around 7k for the mobo..

According to me I have these three choices..

1)Intel Core2Duo 1.86 GHz..or any other on the same platform..within the budget

2)AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ or any other on the same platform ..within the budget..

3)Pentium D..3.4 GHz

Please suggest me the best Processor in this budget..and also the best compatible motherboard ..(budget for mobo is around 7-8k)..

Hi,

My suggestion is go for Duel Core 3.4GHz which is around 8k in Mumbai & Asus P5GZ-MX which is around 3600k.If u compare performance of Duel Core 3.4 with Core 2 Duo 1.86,then u can see there is no difference in performance.

In the zone
Core 2 Duo E6300 1.86 GHz and an MSI P965 Neo. If anyone thinks that Pentium D performs as fast as Core 2, he/she needs to get his eyes and brains tested.

I think Core 2 Duo 1.86 GHz is around 8k in Kolkata..and what is the price of the mobo..

have you gave the suggestion keeping in mind the budget of 19K in total (proce and mobo)..

E6400 would not be a better option than E6300..??

What about the performance of AMD X2 4200+ against the Core 2 Duo..(E6400 as well as E6300)..

go in for a C2D if u can fit it into your budget........or else PD is good enough. What is the main purpose or function of your computer?

if u go in for PD then u should settle for Intel D102GGC2 for about 4k.......it will suffice all ur needs of gaming( has ati x200 onboard and a pci-e slot for future upgrade)

Yah, its a good mobo with lots of features and an ATI chipset. Even games like Doom III, NFS carbon, Half Life 2 plays well in it...Earlier ASUS used to ship a mobo with the x200, but they have now stopped it....
