I m planing to buy laptop, but i m confused now! which is better for quality and service?
i am confused between Dell,HP,acer and Sony.
many peoples are saying that Dell is better but its service is not proper.(i m living in pune, my local friends says that if there is any hardware prob. then it takes 1 to 1.5 month to repair.)
Hp also recomonded ,but they are giving preloaded vista which i dont want. i have originial vista which i have not used yet, other thing is that i will preferably use linux only, so no question of windows.
sony is also good but comparativly to Dell price looks higher.
acer is cheap but i dont like its look, also many peoples are not recomending that.
so now which should i buy now?
Thanks in advance..

The Devil's Advocate
well i would recommend u to choose from either acer or hp

dell- im not such a fan of dell; dont like the looks of their lappies and its always a call center guy ur talking to

sony- better configs and cheaper rates offered by other brands

acer- pocket friendly

hp- nice blend of price; looks & configs

ur question of vista well u can talk to the dealer guys ask what they say; u might get 1 without a pre-loaded OS, its not necessary that all lapptops come with full versions they also have laptops which have trial version of an OS on the lappy as in when u buy its not without an OS at the same time ur not buying the OS too ;)

I have a sony vaio. I would not recommend it, an expensive piece of crap. The audio quality SUCKS. my friend had a HP in which the audio was amazing and I did not notice big difference in the looks either. HP black was really good.

However, to add some credit to the money i invested, the keyboard and touch pad are wayyyyy better than HP, especially the keyboard...

to sum up, if u have enough money to invest in vaio for the same configuration, i suggest it... but, be prepared to get some bose speakers or so!! otherwise, go for HP.
