LG G2 D802T, Htc One M8, Iphone 5s, Oppo Find 7a and 7
10. Any other info that you want to share

Of all the above options I am leaning towards oppo find 7a as it will be ultra exclusive, has fastcharge, camera looks promising and is most vfm. Although I am worried about service.

I currently have a Xperia S so I want atleast 32gb internal or expandable memory. I am also looking towards Xiaomi mi4 and one plus one but they might only come in 16gb options. Galaxy Alpha and Sony z3 too soud promising.

I was hoping to buy before my bday on 13th but was worried this might become an impulse buy I will regret :p

I too love he m8 but its 10k more, has bigger bezels so they are almost comparable in size. But it does have a better community and awesome speakers. But I am most worried about the cam. I take pics of docs occasionaly and the spatial resolution might become a problem.

How about the HTC one e8?? same as M8 except body material and camera ( 13 mp on the e8).
And its cheaper than M8

E8 isnt 4g capable and its omnivision module is inferior than Sony.
I am now really choosing between g2 d802t and 7a. 7a hasn't got 4.4 officially and only has 3 gb internal storage for apps which might only be solved wih kitkat update :(

Kitkat worsens the storage problems for apps. Oppo Find 7a has 16 GB internal. how come only 3 gb is for apps?

Oppo is the worst oem in terms of software. There is no deadline for a kitkat update when android l is about to be released.
The same storage problem is with my Xperia s, the partition for apps is hardcoded at 3gb out of which only 2gb is available due to oem bloatware in find 7. Dropped the idea of going anywhere near it.

Now its between lg g2 d802t, htc one m8 and g3
G2 is 38k
M8 42k
And g3 43k

G3 does seem to have a better body and camera but is worse than g2 in performance and m8 has huge bezels on top and the bottom and a poorer camera

Looks like I ran out of options in a single day :p

Yes, if you go with those type of manufacturers, forget about fast software updates, Oppo, Lenovo etc. But still 7a is a great phone, at least from the reviews of it.

Forget about G2. If you really want to spend that much (do you really?) then no point getting a phone of last year.

You first have to decide on size. You said 4.7" on OP, then saying M8, G3 etc. Those are some huge phones, G3 basically is in phablet category, M8 is close too.

If you want compact phones, then only two recommendations will be Z3 Compact and Galaxy Alpha ,where I personally will favour the Alpha, as long as you can pardon TouchWiz.

If you want maximum screen size with less bezels, then G3 (I am not recommending it, you said, so I am echoing) and have a look at Moto X 2014 too.

If you want to phablet size, then I don't know. Note 4 I suppose.

@OP I suggest you Get Either One Plus One or MI4 both are great phone for price.I will not suggest spend 40k on a phone simply because it is not worth spending on Phone.

Back to school!!
I prefer the G2 over the G3 as the G2 was well received and its the counterpart for Nexus, so development is already good on that one, but its the flagship from last year and while I'm sure it will get L but after that there is less guarantee. But its good for the next year at least. I'm using the G2 for nearly a year and yet to face any kind of issues whatsoever.

M8 is good, very good and I would have vote for that one but the price is a bit too high.

Stay away from One Plus One, there is a bad invite system and phones are suffering from screen problem, if you do get it and face issues you won't be able to do anything about it, and 30k isn't cheap enough to take the gamble, not yet, not till it comes to India.

Finalized on the s5 lte :) had a recent major price cut and is now available for only 38k
Thanks everyone for your advice and opinions.

Good choice........ You sure u can live with a 5" device considering you requested for 4.7" device (i too don't like phone above 4.7")

Z3C & Galaxy Alpha are my new fav devices.

If size isn't a problem, go for S5
