What is the difference between Corsair XMS3 and regular Corsair memory ?

I am in the process of setting up a home lab.

I need a triple channel memory configuration. The max memory i need is 24GB.

I am confused as to go for XMS3 or regular memory 6x4=24.

XMS3 is costly. Two 12GB Corsair XMs3 triple channel kits will cost 3200.

If anyone could throw some light on this, it would be great.

Thanks,
Abhilash

Correction : Two 12GB Corsair XMs3 triple channel kits will cost 32000 rupees.

The presence of heatspreader.Ideal for you.Which regular corsair memory are you talking about?Latency timings might be better as well. For what purpose do you need 24 gigs of RAM?

Check this page and compare the specs.Keep in mind the lower latency means better performance.SPD latency is the latency for which the module is designed and test latency is the latency at which they tested it.SPD is the recommended latency. So buy one with a lower SPD latency.
