1) What is the benefit of One Core acting as GPU in Core i3,i5,i7 ?

2) For Core i3/i5.. processor, should motherboard have onboard video chipset ?

3) If Motherboard has PCIe or AGP Card then, do internal GPU works as one more CPU core ?

4) Why does Core i3 processor show four cores in Windows 7 Task Manager ?

1. thats wrong. i3 & a few selected i5 (6 series) have separate inbuilt GPU in the core. its not 1 core acting as a GPU. i6 7** & all i7, don't have any inbuilt graphics at all. also these are quads, whereas rest are dual cores.

2. none have. to utilize i3 * the i5's graphics capability you need go for H55/H57/Q57. though P55 support but it got no video out (no DVI, HDMI or analog).

3. the internal GPU is turned off. this common for all, the older G3*, G4*, AMD HD*** series board, Nvidia Geforce, nforce series boards.

4. cause its 2 core with HT (hyper threading enabled) which makes 1 additional thread for every available core. so 2*2=4cores. its good for lightly threaded apps. but heavy apps will tax the proccy as it got only 2 cores for real. 2 are actually fake or say unreal cores.

NOTE: the i3 & i5 GPU no match for discrete graphics cards & even Nvidia & AMD inbuilt graphics faster than the i3's GPU. only the i5 661 got a fast mGPU but cost a whopping 10-12k (its a dual core, remember).

Thanks!
Further, Does this mean that every core i3/5/7 motherboard should have VGA output even if onboard video chipset or External Video Chipset is absent ?

^what?

See dude, the H55 motherboards can utilize the on chip graphics of core i3 and 'selected' core i5 models, its got nothing to do with the cores, the processor core and the GPU are different(separate), just in the same package.

NO. only the H55/H57 & Q57 got VGA. the rest got no VGA output so you need use a discrete card to even watch normal videos.

also for the LGA1336 based i7 (9series) you'll need a new board based on X58. this board got no VGA as there exist no i7 (currently) with mGPU onboard.

No. It depends on the chipset. For example P55 and X58 will never ever have IGP, but H55 can. External Video capability (read GPU+PCI.E x 16 dock), is available on most chipsets. When this is mounted, the IGP (if available) gets disabled.
