C2D 2.2GHZ 1066MHZ
2+2GB DDR2 transcend 667Mhz RAM
Nvidia 8600GT 512MB

am runnin vista ultimate 64bit n recently i added 2gigs xtra RAM n its nw 4GB.....vista s showin 4GB of RAM n task Manager s showin as below

Physical Memory (MB)
Total 3068
Cached 2011
Free 22(varies)

but most of tym durin runnin appls its showin Free RAM as 0 in Task Manager.....n my Nvidia card s shwoin as follows

Total avail graphics memory 1790MB
Dedicated video memory 512MB
System video memory 0MB
shared video memory 1278 MB

it has nearly dedicated 1GB of RAM to video memory........if i take a 2GB RAM out.....am gettin tis video memory lower.......n what happens is tat whn i run games, it runs kinda slower than 2GB RAM level........my mobo doesnt support memory remapping.......what shud i do?4GB processing is slower than 2GB processin speed......suggest a solution other than removin 2GB RAM.....even my XP 64 bit shows nearly same result

In the RUN, type dxdiag and see how much RAM it is showing. If 4 GB is listed there, then everything is ok. N vidia cards usually share memory but dont just occupy it.
You should always clear your BIOS once when you are doing a system upgrade.... have you done that ?

Read this article --> *www.gamersden.in/forum/windows/vista-wont-boot-with-more-than-ram-t251.html

If you follow the steps correctly, i am sure that you will get back your remaining bytes......
