Using Android phone as in-vehicle navigator

I want to use my Xperia ZR as GPS based navigator. But as GPS and Bluetooth will need to be active always, I expect fast battery drain. Since this is my primary phone I cant let it happen. Hence I have a car charger.
How will the battery be affected if continually connected to the charger during drive even after reaching 100% charge?

todays battery dont have any issue even after it reches 100%
i have been using motorola photon for the same purpose for over an year no issue at all.
