USB to IrDA dongle problem

Hi friends,
i have a USB-IrDA dongle and it is working fine but i want to capture packets to study IrDA protocols
So can any one help me out please......

AFAIK Wireshark cannot directly capture native IRDA transmission by itself. For wireshark/ethereal to capture a packet a network interface is required.

I'm not sure how the IRDA drivers haf setup the device. If using windows then goto start > run. Type devmgmgt.msc to bring up Device Manager and check under Network if the USB-IRDA adapter has any device registered. You will only be able to capture packets in Wireshark if the device is listed under Network Controllers.
