    get boards from MSI/Asus, will do you good, support DDR2 RAM upto 4GB
    how old is your proccy,

    you actually need to first identify whether it is 478 pin or LGA775 pin proccy, on the basis of that only u can buy a new mobo.

    Yes, be sure of that otherwise you will be wasting your time. I also had to change my motherboard once while retaining my P4, and I went for 945G (in 2007).

    @quan chi

    I am exactly having the same mobo, ASUS P5N-MX and i previously used it with my P4 HT 3.06GHz proccy and OCed it to 3.72GHz.Now i ran E6600 in this board and OCed that to 3.2GHz from 2.4GHz. Stable board.

    It do supports HT. And the same LAN Controller as you mentioned. No problem. Good board.

    Whether you buy it as new or used one. If used one, then go for it. Or else get
    P5K PL-CM as they both available at same price.
