how is lumia 820 in terms of data storage and bluetooth transfer. Previously (lumia 710) it didn't support bluetooth transfer, mass data storage etc. and I'm not updated with its progress presently. Its hardware sounds impressive but 1605mAh battery might loose out to samsung ans sony. Please advice.

Enjoy~!

Even I have Lumia 710... After updating to 7.8 version, it does support bluetooth transfers... But, yes, the file transfers has to follow a strict process. I guess the same with Windows 8..
[Editted..]

I think WP8 supports USB mass storage mode, but it doesnot have file manager. So if a format of the file is not supported by WP8, you might not be able to access the file through phone.. Still it can be accessed in the computer...

I presume for your father, simplicity of operations would be important? Frankly, no UI is as simple to operate as the Windows Phone. And the 17-18k Lumia 720 is probably the best Lumia around. A better camera and crucially bigger battery than the 820. People might point out the low ram but hey, so long gaming is not a priority, 512 mb works fine in Windows phone platform

How much is iPhone 4 in India market (8GB). And any more feedback on Lumia 720. Why not 820.

Yes games will never be run on this phone. Its more on official purpose. Also, being a senior officer, he won't bother fancy apps and all. Yes he does want a good camera to shoot random pictures on the go, and a simple stable UI.

Enjoy~!

Tradus is selling the iPhone 4 at 20.6k (Apple iPhone 4 Price in India 2013 28th June valid in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai,Mumbai and Delhi). I would not buy anything that does not offer expandable storage though, 8 gb is simply not enough, but to each his own.

Actually with the recent price cut even the Lumia 820 is within range at 21k....more ram, better processor. The 720 i guess has a better camera and crucially 25% larger battery. Take your pick among the three.

Lumia 720 is made for you!

My father rejected Xperia L because it was too stylish, he needed a simple looking phone. Acc. to him L9 was decent looking.

(Now he's taking over my S2 & I'm getting Nexus 4)

Umm, getting confusing now. I have asked him to put on hold for another couple of days while I buy some more time.

There lies my problem :(. He is getting a cell from his company and budget they have provided is 19k. He is in no mood to spend single money but if its worth getting something by adding a 1k or 2, that would be fine. Moreover, I stay in a different city so I just have to tell him a model name which he will go and get. And there is no point sending him alone anywhere as he does not know any smartphone apart from Blackberry.

Is it really true that for him, lumia interface would be more confusing than android. Coz android being open source is more prone to complicated apps and some times struggle with stability, virus etc. I'm an android user. Please throw your inputs on this.

And anything from samsung? We got inputs for only Sony in android.

Thanks.
