My Present desktop Configuration is Intel Atom processor 1.60Ghz with 1GB Ram and intel 82845 mother board an 500 GB WD HDD. I wish to upgrade it.

My main use is Internet access & I wish to install Windows 7 and office 2010.

office 210 should run fast on it.I will not use any Grafix or any High processing power consuming application software.

suggest me any Good Motherbord +Processor+Ram configuration but not expensive.

is my present intel 82945 motherboard compatible with i3 or i5 processors..?

And, answer to your last question: The present motherboard you are using is outdated. It won't support any present processor.

U surely checkout a 4gb ram.:)
coz.. for windows 7 with a 2gb ram, it already uses upto 30% of da ram at startup..
so MSOffice2010 may not run fast on it as u want..
& looking, planning for 5years ahead... I think 4gb ram will be a better bet..

Right off the assembly line
Upgrading that configuration will need upgrading almost all parts of the system - CPU, mobo and RAM.
Instead you can keep that set-up and use it for internet and documentation by adding 4gb RAM like Pratik said. I have an Atom machine running on 6GB RAM (single channel) and it runs Win 7 Ultimate. Everything seems to work just fine with the machine. I also have Linux Mint installed in dual boot and it works like a charm too.

So, my suggestion would be to keep current machine and use it for some purposes + add some RAM. And if you have budget then go for a full blown machine later on.

PS: I have Intel Atom D425KT and I've installed Win 7 x64. The 64 bit versions make a huge difference. Check out if your processor supports 64 bit OS.
