unable to unlock bootloader

Been facing a problem trying to unlock the bootloader vis-a-vi the official sony website.
Trying to install, for the first time, cyanogen mod 9 on my xperia neo v.
Anyone done that, would be great for help and feedback on how that went.

Went through the cm9.1 upgrade. Working except for the GPS.
