Apple has posted three new Get a Mac television advertisements to its Web site. The by-now familiar ads all feature actors John Hodgman and Justin Long as the PC and Mac, respectively.

“Choose a Vista” describes some of the confusion that Windows users face by determining which version of Microsoft Vista they need to select; PC has a big game show wheel with each name of Vista on it. He spins the wheel and lands on the “Lose a Turn” area.

In “Genius,” Mac introduces PC to a Mac Genius, and explains that Mac Geniuses are at each Apple retail store to answer questions. PC unsuccessfully tries to stump the Genius, ending with, “On a scale of one to ten how much do I loathe Mac,” then finally admitting that she’s good after she answers “11.”

“Party is Over,” the final spot, shows a party being thrown by a bunch of suit-wearing bespectacled PCs, with a neon sign reading “Vista” in the background. Ostensibly celebrating the release of Vista after five years, PC is crestfallen, saying that the party’s a bust because he’s had to buy a new graphics card and upgrade his memory only to find that some software and peripherals still don’t work.

All of the new ads are available for review on Apple’s Web site at apple.com/getamac/ads, using QuickTime.

My Opinion:
I think this is the longest-running series of ads Apple has ever run. Must be having good results. The Mac guy's people must have gotten an offer they couldn't refuse.

Great to see also that MS has been so cooperative in supplying so much material to make fun of.

QuickTime Player is free and you don't need the Pro version to watch these advertisements. :)

John Hodgman is getting funnier with each advertisement. LOL!

"What about five years and two days?" Ha! Ha!

@ nepcker, The Switch series of commercials ran a lot longer than this one. :)

BTW, Apple has also started posting web-only advertisements on websites such as pcmag.com.

My favourite sentences:
"Didn't you make this?"
"I have an all day meeting in five years."

Usually there's at least one that doesn't quite stand with the others in a batch. But I love all three. "Choose a Vista"'s the best, in my opinion.

Yeah, I saw a new web ad on cnn.com where PC is afraid to come on the screen because the internet is a dangerous place. I didn't see it on the Apple site anywhere after I saw it online.
