Tablet under 9000

I was thinking of getting Kindle for reading but Amazon increased its price again to Rs. 6000. Now, I'm thinking of getting a tablet. Here are my primary concerns :-

  • Reading books on Aldiko.
  • Streaming movies & TV Shows from Plex media server or sharing media via samba server running on my system. (Plex app for tablets is for $5 and I don't have a credit card to pay for that :p)
  • Light internet browsing (can be turned towards heavy internet browsing if the temperature in the winter drops below 0 degrees here in my state).
  • 3G connectivity is not a priority but if I can get it in the specified budget then I'll go for it.
  • Battery life should be good. Anything above 6-7 hours is great. But not less than 6 hours.

Shortlisted :-

Dell Venue 7Asus Padfone 7
Screen7-inch IPS7-inch
Resolution1280x800 1024x600
Processor1.6 GHz Intel Atom 25601.2 GHz Intel Atom 2520
RAM2 GB1 GB
Storage16 GB4 GB
3GYes but Data onlyDual SIM for data & voice
Weight350 g290 g
Battery4100 mAH3950 mAH
PriceRs. 8800Rs 8900

Now, please solve the dilemma. Asus has dual SIM which can be used for both voice & data and has a better interface whereas Dell has 16 GB internal memory & 2 GB RAM. I have not seen any of these tablets in person so I can't figure it out on my own.

Right off the assembly line
I've never used a tablet with a 1024X600 resolution personally , So I cant say for sure ... but it seems a bit low , and may not be ideal for reading. I'd advice trying the asus phonepad out in a showroom if possible.

Thanks. I ordered Dell Venue 7 wi-fi 16 GB version from Amazon last night. Got it for just Rs. 7000.
