A. Android

A. Taking pictures, Social Networking (sites and apps), Occasional (read 'no') gaming, Internet Browsing.
Applications to be used : Chrome, Youtube, Occasionally Quickoffice, Maps, Gmail, WhatsApp and Facebook. Nothing Else.

8. Any other info that you want to share.
A. This phone is for my mom. She don't want to carry her point and shoot with her and thinking of replacing it with a phone.


Things required : Good camera, fluid performance, no lags while using or switching apps, good call quality and voice clearity.
Optional things : Should be good looking.

Another good option is HTC M8( plastic Version) was recently released for around 35k..
The Samsung galaxy s5 also has a great camera, so does Sony Xperia Z2

I don't think hTC One E8 has been released in India yet.
What are your views about Z2? Its out of the budget but the primary camera in Z1 and Z2 are same, correct me I'm wrong so she can go for Z1 if it is worth it. It looks good, I think better than S5.

Well, the budget is maximum 40k. Sorry if the word 'around' created some confusion. Updated it.

And she doesn't really need all that processing power in her phone. Just anything that doesn't lag and gets the job done. Only applications that will be used ever are mentioned in the first post.

I was checking S5's flipkart listing and was amazed to see only 2star rating, I wonder why?

If you are okay with small screen than Z1c is great compact phone. Else get Z1. You are correct about camera part.

Check "certified buyers" review for s5 if you want to see some legit reviews. Lots of peoples rated it 1start because the were unhappy with older laggy phones
S5 isnt that bad, one of the best camera phone(after lumias)

I have used S4 n Z1 side by side & image quality seemed better in S4.

Ofcourse 1020 has the best camera in a smartphone, S5 is second. Please check that shootout

yeah the s5s camera and screen is a rare moment when samsung got it right,i loved the camera performance and the screen colours etc
usually samsungs grand ,s3 etc had very average cameras and screens,but the s4 and s5 got it right

nice link btw,all the 6 phones look great for photos
though i must say the writer of the article was a little underprepared with shutter speed on the 1020,the nokia camera app allows full controls of the shutter speeds

HTC E8 fits your budget perfectly, also the price of LG G2 has gone down, worth checking out.
