I want to change the HDD on Asus u32u with a 64GB SSD. This will be my first ssd.
Which SSD should i go for ?
Dont want to spend too much on the ssd, but i need good performance.

Is a 64 GB ssd enough ? I will install Win 7 with a lot of IDEs [Codeblocks, Netbeans, IDLE, Matlab, Eclipse] and Office + upto 5 GB files

I would strongly suggest 128GB minimum... and the brand you have to look out for is either Samsung or Intel.
As per the model numbers of the SSD there are many according to speed and specs, so if you mention your max.budget it would be easier to suggest.

Not more than 5k.
Also, i am planning on upgrading the ram to 6GB :)

Intel and Samsung are almost double my budget. I did a calculation and i think i can do with 64 GB :)
Software + Files is about 40 GB and i dont plan on storing anything else on it.

Seriously, dude dont go for 64gb ssd, after installing windows 7 all the software's u have mentioned, there will be only 10~15gb left which is not advisable....coz its not good for the ssd functioning.
save up and go for 128gb......and btw if u fill ssd more than 50% its performance degrades over time...and win 7 slowly will eat up your ssd space in no time.....thats also the reason.
Thats my advice
U can go for OCZ agility 120gb -Rs.6350,sandisk 120gb -Rs.6750....may be cheaper than the given prices....!

Then too your choice.

^^What is your budget?
I saw someone selling Intel 320 series very cheap @ebay.in,if you have any 1k ebay coupon you can get the OCZ Vertex4 128GB for around 7.5k.It plays really nice with Windows and probably the fastest around.
Even Sandforce drives are getting better these days.I will request you stay away from one particular rubbish brand Transcend!
