Suggestion required for processor+mobo and also for graphics card

Hi All,
I have 2 queries:
1) Please suggest me a mobo+processor combo at arnd 9K. I am a little biased towards Intel, since my last purchase (AMD Athlon XP 64bit) locks when it gets just a bit hotter.

2) What is the best solution: Going for a mobo with a better onboard graphics @ arnd 1k-1.5k more than the basic mobo. OR getting a basic graphics card @ 3k-4k.

Note: I dont play games. But unlike XP, the OSs now-a-days demand better graphics. So my primary concern is whether onboard graphics will be able to fulfill the OSs demand.

long gone AthlonXP along with it the heating issues & the lockups.

for 9k you got 2 choice:

i3 + H55 = ~11.5k
or Athlon II X3 + 785G: ~9k

im not sure about intel that whether it will be in the budget or not
but in case of AMD
athlon II x3 425+biostar 785 mobo will come comfortably in 9k

Iagree that at this budget, its hard to get something from Intel.
Just was little worried about the heating problems of AMD. Anyway, I did some googling and found that now-a-days AMD do not have any heating issues like it used to have 3-4 yrs back.
