Right off the assembly line
I am planning to purchase new custom config for gaming + designing + development, so after scratching my brains for few days, i have finally sorted down to these choices, i need a good configuration of mobo + proc + mem which will last me a couple of years, so please recommend the best + reliable ones from below

Processor
Intel Pentium Dual Core E5200 = 3.6k
Core 2 Duo - 2.80Ghz - E7400 = 6.3k

I have gone through some posts on the forum and heard that E5200 is the best one for overclocking + the price is low + its nice for gaming, so please suggest E5200 or E7400 ?

Motherboard
Asus - P5N - MX - Nvidia GeForce 7050 / nForce 610i = 2.4k
P5N - 73 - AM - Nvidia GeForce 7050 / nForce 610i = 2.4k
P5N - 73 - CM - Nvidia GeForce 7100 / nForce 630i = ?
P5N - EM - HDMI - Nvidia GeForce 7100 / nForce 630i = ?

I think ASUS Nvidia GeForce / nForce Mobo will be the best for gaming but as i am going for Palit GPU, do you think Palit Mobo + Palit GPU will make an better combination and give me the best performanance for gaming ?

Currently i am going for 2 GB RAM, then i will be upgrading to 4 GB within few months, so the Mobo should support 4 GB RAM

RAM / Memory Stick
2 GB DDR II 800 Mhz = 1.25k
I think Kingston will be better than Transcend, what do you think?
Anything better than Kingston in the same price range ?

HDD
250 GB - Seagate SATA II - 7200.10 RPM / Barracuda = 2k
320 GB - Seagate SATA II - 7200.10 RPM / Barracuda = 2.2k
500 GB - Seagate SATA II - 7200.10 RPM / Barracuda = 3k
Which one to go for ?

Cabinet - ATX - Black
Cool Master Elite 300 = 1.6k
Zebronics Bijli = 1.6k
Anything better ?

PSU / SMPS
Cool Master 460w extreme plus = 2.6k
Cool Master 500w extreme = 2.8k
Cool Master 600w extreme = 3.5k
Corsair CX400 - 400w = 3.2k
VIP Silver OEM FSP - 500w = ?
Tagan Stone Rock - TG500-U37 - 500w (Max Power upto 600w) = 3.7k
I am totally newbie to PSU's, so please recommend the best one ?

GPU
Palit 9400 GT Super - 512 MB / DDR2 = 2.8k
9400 GT Super - 1 GB / DDR2 = 3.1k
8600 GT - 512 MB / DDR3 / HDMI = 3.5k
HD 4670 Super - 512 MB / DDR3 /128 bit/ HDMI = 5.1k
Suggest please ?

I will be purchasing the custom config within the next 3 days, so please suggest soon, thank you and sorry for the long post

Core 2 Duo - 2.80Ghz - E7400 = 6.3k. The price is 5.7k I think

Asus P5n-MX is a good choice and it has Nvidia GeForce 7050 chipset.

2 GB DDR II 800 Mhz = 1.25k. No difference between Kingston and Transcend.

Stay away from 7200.10 and 7200.11 seagate HDD's. Get 7200.12 500Gb HDD or Western Digital 500Gb HDD

Cool Master Elite 300 = 1.6k

Palit 9600GT : 5.5k-6k

Corsair CX400 - 400w = 3.2k

BTW, what is the budget?

wouldn't Quad Core be a better option?

Cabinet - ATX - Black
Cool Master Elite 300 = 1.6k
Zebronics Bijli = 1.6k
Anything better ?
there is no 300 right?
anyway i have Elite 330 and its a really nice case, its 1.9k at ITwares.

Yes. It's CM 330.

Q6600 costs around 9.5k if I am right. And I would say put that 3k in GPU and get HD4850 instead of 9600 which will be more useful for gaming and video encoding tasks etc.
Have to know the budget before giving proper config.

but then from now on every App and Games will be Quad Core optimized right?
so if you get Dual core systems now it will get outdated even faster right?

I don't think so. Let me tell you one simple thing.

My home PC has AMD Athlon 64 (single core) processor running at 2.2GHz and ATI HD2600XT card.

My office PC has Intel Core2Duo E4300 with Nvidia Quadro 540.

HD2600XT is lot powerful than Quadro 540 in video rendering and though the processor I have is a single core, Video conversion on my home PC is much faster than that on my office PC.

proccy intel E5200 - 3.5K
mobo if u r buying gfx card then choose from P series chipset, P35 in 4.2-4.5K (mobo names Palit P35A, MSI P35 Neo-F or Gigabyte P35)
supports upto 8GB RAM an has quiet good upgrade options.

Said that I suggest you to consider options from amd proccy and mobo the combo will be much better than intel combos in price and performance

Cabinet Coolermaster Elite 330 in 1.6K

PSU coolermaster 500W in 2.8K
Corsair VX450 3.8K (i think the prices have decreased for this and is now 3.2K)
Corsair CX 400 3K (PSU prices are from itwares and lynx)

RAM 2GB 800FSB Kingston in 1.2K or G Skill 1.4K

HDD Seagate 500GB 7200.11 with 32MB buffer than 7200.10 with 16MB buffer in 3K what

I havent checked the specs of 500GB 7200.12 which is available on itwares in same price

I am planning to assemble a PC for animation needs.
Thinking of going with AMD Phenom II X4 940 Balck Edition
WIll it be compatible with a Nvidia Quadro Gfx ? And is the RadeonHD as good as the Quadro for animation needs ? (Maya)

but all depends on your total budget.
anyhow intel will come out good in office or dev work IMO, so even if i7 is not get quad core.

i7 is really expensive and the socket is soon to be phased out, plus i am an AMD fan :)
I wanted to know if AMD HDseries gfx cards can match NVIDIA Quadro when it comes to animation work ? Or are Quadros the best ?

@Maverick340, Please don't do baseless posts. Who said that socket 1366 will be phased out and FYI, core i7 920 price is just 14k and being a premium segment processor, the price is totally justified.

AMD Hd series and nvidia Quadro are in a totally different league. ATI FireGL or FirePro are the competitors for Quadro.

Sorry i read a review and the LGA-775 is being phased out. Thats for the C2Q proccy, Apologies.
The Phenom II X4 beats some of the Core 2 Quad proccys and they are not a wise investment. So little confused between a Core i7 920 and Phenom II X4 955.
