Some devices according to price segments.
but these are not best in camera.

under 20k-
Samsung Galaxy M34 - heating issue (high temperature region), low end processor, discount isn't great, price should be below 15k.
Iqoo Z7 - good camera but poor software experience, suggested by telegram user

under 30k-
Nord 3 - by same relative

under 30k-35k-
Samsung S21FE - best in camera but old device, suggested by telegram user.

M34 5G looks decent. It still has exynos which is its major con, but should be fine if you want Samsung. I won't bet on its battery life being more than M21 as 6000mah + weak chip will provide a great battery life.

For something much better, Poco F5 looks decent for you because it has the best battery life among it, Moto Edge 40, OP Nord 3 & Nothing Phone 1. Some youtubers said the battery life of Nord 3 is closer to that of Edge 40 than F5. NP1 is also decent if you want something relatively compact. M34 should provide bit better battery life than A53 which has same chip & similar display but 5000mah battery instead of 6000mah for M34.

In terms of UI, I will rate them like Samsung > Moto ~ Nothing > OP > Poco.

In terms of OS updates, M34 is the best & will get android 17. NP1, Moto & F5 should go upto A15.

In terms of hardware, F5 > Nord 3 > Edge 40 > NP 1 > M34

So take your call based on sale prices.

M34 is in a different price bracket than the rest of the phones and they will likely be over the budget even after discounts, I guess.
Moto Edge 40 & Poco F5 have been selling for 27k with card offers, likely will be similar. NP1 was 26k in last sale after offers, I think. Nord 3 is out of budget for sure, can avoid that.

They are surely a tier above M34 but I would have preferred if Samsung stopped making the U & V notch, also using Dimensity 1050 instead of Exynos.

My cousin is looking to upgrade from M51, which was a 22-24k phone almost 3 years back to M34. Battery life & looks are inferior in M34. CPU performance is barely 10% or so better than S730. Camera & software support are surely better.

I have always had this thought how much extra life does these 6000mah phone have over 5000mah. I assume it's not 20% as the difference in capacity. There are articles talking about why many don't need these big battery phones and all. But is there any head to head comparison preferably from the same brand, sharing same type of display/refresh rate, SoC. This 6000mah filter removes some good choices.

Going by the users age and primary use case, I would assume she is not a heavy user. And most phones support fast charging. So battery criteria can be relaxed, I feel.

Since she is a Samsung user she will feel at home with M34. And also there is good software support, assuming she is not a heavy user I guess no need to mind weaker SoC in comparison with competition.

Discount doesn't matter.
it's just that "sale" is there and they "need mobile"
UI lag meaning. 60+ older lady isn't tech savvy, so WhatsApp and google photos and camera and facebook app will be open always, in recent items. So these apps should not cause lag in UI or drop in 60 fps (or any) display setting.
off course game will be played but not by her, but the grand children. And I don't think they will complain about bad performance, they will simply stop playing games on it.

For specifications, Battery is main, also network connectivity and camera and UI performance (not gaming performance)

okay. So,

m34 will lasts long with weak 1280 chip. but its 16k suggestion.

Poco f5 good one but has very bad camera. As per "perfect gadget" youtuber review. I will avoid this on camera basis also a flipkart buy..

Moto edge 40, I will avoid for battery and clean UI. Oldies are comfortable with built in features instead of downloading and installing app for that software feature.

OP Nord 3, not available and over budget above 25k

nothing phone 1 and 2 bad battery and over budget 25k

Are there any other options other than these F5 > Nord 3 > Edge 40 > NP 1 > M34
like iqoo, oppo, vivo, realme, etc.

M34 is good. but it's same old samsung m21 brand for her.

camera performance wise in 15k, 20k and 25k budget?

yes exactly.
that is what i asked, budget is 20k but can be +/- 5k
if 15k offers better camera, battery than 20k budget segment device then. suggest..
if 20k offers better camera, battery than 15k and 25k budget segment device then suggest..
if 25k offers better camera, battery than 15, 20, and even 30k budget segment device then suggest..

so which device you are suggesting.
6000 mAh criteria is just for village needs (load shedding issue)
And yes 6000 mAh battery criteria can be relaxed. As I don't see many option for her.

she deliberately said any mobile brand can do, i don't know what's in her mind.

do suggest your choices ranging from 15k to 25k budget.

M34 is a decent choice. It checks battery, camera, familiar UI and very good software support. No need to shell out extra to get a new charger if she got the charger of M51 in good condition. I tend to go for lower end of the budget, so this would be my choice.

Realme 10 Pro+ has good reviews for camera and battery endurance rating is good. Better spec'ed than M34 for sure but comes at a premium, and within your budget of 25k. In fact, you can even find Realme GT 2 of last year in the budget.

Decided not to purchase any at the moment.

Also, budget is fluctuating now from 15k to 30k.
Requirement slightly changed to Camera (good selfie and rear), 5G
No heat and smooth UI (no lag in UI), no gaming.
I will update main post and heading accordingly.

Some of the suggestions made by others, friends
After watching this video

under 20k-
Samsung Galaxy M34 - heating issue (high temperature region), low end processor, discount isn't great, price should be below 15k.
Iqoo Z7s - good camera but poor software experience, suggested by telegram user
Realme GT neo 3T - flipkart sale sometimes

under 25k-
Poco f4 5G -

under 30k-
Samsung Galaxy F54 - heating issue (high temperature region)
Nord 3 - by same relative

under 30k-35k-
Samsung S21FE - suggested by telegram user
Iqoo Neo 7 pro - overall great. but little bad camera compared to nord 3.

I will wait more for new mobile launches.

Nord 3 does throttle on heavy load, but reviewers didn't complain about heating issue. It does get warm. Since gaming won't be done, Nord 3 can be considered because of its camera. D9000 is considered an efficient SoC compared to S888/888+ or 8 Gen 1 (obviously better than exynos as well).

IMO this should be the top choice around 30k, more like 32-33k. It will get 3 OS updates as well, only bested by new Samsung devices at this price point but Samsung has nothing good at this price range.

For their price, I'll ignore S21FE & F54 because of SoC.

Neo 7 pro is good for gamers because of SoC.

Yes. 6000 mAh Criteria can be excluded.
But photos and videos processed using weak SoC will not be that good compared strong SoC with same Camera module. Right?

updating 1st post, and I will wait for new launches.

Yes, better processor + same sensor produce better images.

I started looking around this time last year, there were some good offers at that time. I couldn't get because I didn't have any of those cards last time. So waited and got it before dushera. There weren't many launches in the price segment I was looking for. New launches tend to be priced higher. Poco M5 was launched last year before I bought but pricing was much more than M4 Pro. Now it is cheaper than Redmi 10. By all means wait, just narrow down your choices. If there is any good new phones in the near future, fine and good. If not, you can go ahead with your shortlisted candidate.
