i would suggest u to go for the one with powerful processor & newer chipset

Yes.Toshiba looks better but any other model from Asus,Lenovo or any other brand.

Teni,the ASS of Asus is not that bad in kolkata now.
They usually send someone within 24 after receiving the complaint.
A friend of mine got his screen replaced in 10 days.
No that bad when you compare to HP.
HP probook for 27k from flipkart is not a bad deal either.

Looking at your purpose of watching movies, internet surfing, downloading and Microsoft Office, I would suggest you to get a netbook instead of a laptop. You can get a netbook at a price range of 10,000 to 18,000. A netbook can give you a battery backup upto 7-8 hours. The only requirement that it will not fulfill is that netbooks have a large screen of 14" or 16".

I am also using an Intel Atom processor based netbook since last year and therefore I believe that you don't require a full fledged notebook.
