Spice Mi-310 for 7.3k! Does it run on Android?

Peak Oil is real!
Friends,

Anyone has hands-on experience with Spice Mi-310?

Saw it on Flipkart.

I want to gift an entry-level smartphone running Android to my small sister. Currently she has Nokia 5233.

This spice phone claims to run Froyo, has 3.1" capacitive HVGA screen, 600 Mhz processor, 2 MP camera, proximity sensor... It seems to be value for money... Who gives a capacitive screen at this cost?

The phone surely looks very ugly.

I found a review website which claims it runs some Java OS and not Android... But flipkart says its Android 2.2 -- *www.ayushveda.com/spice-mi-310-review/

Anyone has experience with this phone... please post your views...

Cheers!

BATTERY
Type: 1200 mAh
Talk Time: 2.5 hours (Maximum)

if this is true, i mean the talk time part. i'll suggest stay a good distance away from it. & let me do some R&D. want to know who is the OEM of this mobile.

@Amalek, buddy save some more. a mobile that doesn't last a day (this won't last 6hrs i feel) shouldn't be considered. currently all sub 10k Androids have worst battery of any mobile i heard of.

also looking at the specs, i think flipkart messed up something for sure. look at this:

CAMERA
Primary Camera: 2 MP camera
Video Recording: Yes @ 720p

 2Mp & 720p video recording?

if the talk time is sorted out, it can be considered but do some research first.

Yes ,it runs froyo and has 600mhz processor but 720p playback or recording is nonsense I think.

Yes ,it runs froyo and has 600mhz processor

WOW!!!!! A processor that is same speed as Optimus One and Froyo that even expensive phones (ARC) dont have it....

Will be interesting to use a phone like this...

^^ ARC?

its nothing but a rebranded ZTE mobile. without any update & community support, hmmmm, not recommended for those who want to tweak their mobile.

even i was considering it. but my dad suggested me not to trust brands like spice. waiting for better android phone in sub 10.5k range.
