Well this is a bit early... but there is a Moto G rival on the Horizon.

A mid-range Sony Xperia smartphone snuck in the GFX Bench database. The D5103 features specs similar, but better than the Moto G. The chipset is listed as Snapdragon 400 MSM8226, the same as the Moto G, but there are differences.

The chipset has four Cortwex-A7 cores at 1.4GHz (200MHz faster than in the Motorola) and Adreno 305 graphics, which has proven great for the 720p screen resolution. There's no info on the screen size though.

The Sony Xperia D5103 was running Android 4.4.1 KitKat when it did the test, with the software fingerprint revealing the build is quite recent – January 27.

Judging by the 3 in the model number, the Xperia D5103 will have LTE connectivity, another victory over the Moto G.

price: i'm expecting a 18-19k launch which will go down to 17-18k after a month or two, and 15k-16k when (and if) Moto G LTE launches in India.

Seeing the crazy price of Xperia M2 , this will be waaay above Moto G price. Could touch Rs20,000, if not, its gonna murder its own weaker sibling Xperia M2
Sony had a good and awesome run in 2013, now they are sucking dragon ballz in 2014. Cant wait for their Autumn 2014 Collection. I wanna see how they build their Snapdragon 401 and 801 phones.

Bro you are bringing up approx 2 month old leak ?
i thought this phone was later renamed to Xperia M2.. but if real this is stupid move by Sony.. Having 2 phones in same range..

Xperia M2 and Xperia G

they should have waited and equipped this phone with a better chip like snapdragon 410 and release it 2-3 months later..

Isn't everyone bored of this same chip Cortex A7 with Adreno 305 ? every other phone is using this chip..

Lets see the difference between M2 and G

720p resolution and IPS ( most probably )
200 mhz higher clock

once again they are using older chip meaning it will not even have LTE for indians .. Whats the point of having 2 similar devices in same price range with same features at the same time ?

i think that Xperia G was undergoing Testing at that time as newer chips weren't available so they must be testing it with older chip cortex A7.. later when Qualcomm releases it they will just swap the SOC .. as these SOC are pin to pin and software compatible with older versions.. and they will launch it later with Cortex A53

Secondly the model is a 5 series models.. D5103 which indicates the phone will be quite superior to M2 ( D2303) .

third this phone first leaked with other models like Xperia E1,t2 ultra, m2 , in january .. they all were announced and launched long ago .. but till now there has been no word on this phones launch
